What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Transformers: Age of Extinction.

2 hours and 40 minutes or so of pretty good CGI, pretty weak acting, and a plot that is both overly simplistic (and highly MacGuffin dependent) and annoyingly over-complicated.

Don't. Just don't. You have much better things to do with 2+ hours. Play a game or something. Don't see this movie.

Go see it. It's not perfect, but if you like monkey/ape shenanigans, it's rope.
Planning to see it tomorrow with Gunstar Green, and looking forward to it.

Tonight I watched Elysium for the first time. I liked it much better than District 9.

Hmm, to me Elysium beat you over the head a little too much with the message. Granted D9 did a bit too. But I bought D9 to watch again, I have no such desire with E.

So apparently Snowpiercer is already available on VOD, that's kind of a big deal

I just ordered it. It seems to be getting strong reviews

The first half was decent, but then it got muddied down in cryptic tedium and utter bullshit. Many critics love bullshit.

Wow, that's surprising. Elysium was alright and had some cool parts, but I thought District 9 was much better. Elysium was a disappointment, so I probably like it less than I would've if I hadn't had high expectations going in from D9

Don't get me wrong, neither is a great sc-fi flick, but I thought District 9 was one of the most overrated films in the genre in decades. By comparison, I'd probably give Elysium a 3/5 or 3.5/5.

Hmm I guess I just disagree. Id give D9 3.5 or 4/5 and Elysium 2.5/5.

Elysium had too many plot holes and eye-roll inducing moments that brought down some of the good parts. The ending/last 20-30 was the worst part. Just meh.

The ending was a bit of cheese, agreed. I'd concur that the last 30 minutes probably bumped it down at least a half star.
