3DS - Animal Crossing: New Leaf
Re: 3DS - Animal Crossing: New Leaf
Have to wait a bit longer for my 3DS XL. Not having this game is killing me...

Re: 3DS - Animal Crossing: New Leaf
My wife and I have been kicking it into overdrive since we got our 3DS with Animal Crossing back in December for Christmas. She is all about gardening and planting flowers and making paths and I am all about dressing up in weird outfits and filling my basement up with Servers (how else will the animals access the network!?). Gonna post a few pictures up as I start to get our town into a visualized state, especially my house since it is a complete mess.
Here is a teaser of me in my current state looking like an old hippie.

^how'd you take pics?
I bought this back when it came out w/ the intention of my wife and I sharing it. I thought we'd be fighting over it... but she played it once and I've yet to try it. :\

In game, you just need to press the L and R buttons to take a pic. It is saved on the SD card which you can then just pop onto your computer.
The game really needs to be played with another person, on-line or in person to share your experiences, designs and ideas. I am the mayor of the town and my wife and I are constantly bickering over what projects to put up and where. It is a lot of fun to wake up and see what she has worked on and for her to wake up and see what little I've done for the town, instead, working on expanding my own home and making bells for personal gain muahahahahahahahahahaha!
This is the one Animal Crossing that needs to be played, as every other iteration has had slight improvements, this one really changes up the formula with the mayor role and provides a lot of cool customization to your town.

this is just in AC though right? Not in every 3DS game? I always thought the 3DS should just let you hit the camera button to take screenshots in every game.

Actually that was our problem. See, my wife had never played an AC game. And she got interested and I told her about the GCN one so we thought we'd get the 3DS game to share. However, she started first so she was the mayor and she didn't like that. So then I was like "alright delete your save and I'll start a game as the mayor." But then we just did a bunch of other stuff instead.

technically, no. If the game has a miiverse on the 3DS you can post the images up there by just hitting the home button and attaching the screenshot to the miiverse as a post. You can then access the miiverse via your PC and save the image...it is a pain in the ass as a workaround, but it is still possible. The same can be done for Wii U games, which is why I have an infinite amount of pictures from Wind Waker selfies stored on my PC.

Re: 3DS - Animal Crossing: New Leaf

I gave this game to myself for Christmas last year. I played up through the new year, but quit in mid-January. It just felt weird to be playing a game with no obvious goal, decorating my house, and doing busy work to earn money.
Over the past few weeks, I've been playing a lot of 3DS. My daughter, girlfriend, and I all got into our first Pokemon game, and I've been enjoying the "decorating" aspect of that game, buying clothes, etc. I remembered that I still had Animal Crossing in the "trade box", so I dug it out and gave it another try last night.
I don't know what it is, but I'm hooked this time. I'm running around catching new bugs and fish, planting flower gardens, buying furniture, and building a wardrobe of clothes. Maybe the feeling will fade again, but I am looking forward to getting back "on the island" and filling out my museum. My girlfriend is going to move into my town and we will see how that goes. I need someone else to contribute toward the town well that has been under construction for 6 months.
I still have my photos from New Year's, but I missed my birthday in march.
