Now that Tanooki's here on RB, he'll probably give us the scoops just as often as he does on DP. It's nice not to have to go digging through other forums

I'll try to. I just need to make it a habit to do so. I've got nothing new since the last note about the 1.5 preview and the quick boot request. The tech did note they got some famicom multicart pirates in the office so they'll be looking to analyze and add those. That 1.5 version should go live shortly which is nice, though since I can share the links people here are ahead of the game. The fast boot thing eventually will go live as a download of choice for people but it will get put to new systems in some batch going forward eventually so those owners who don't adopt early will just have a fast booting console.
The link back to NA is pretty useless as that site is dead to me due to their own issues. Stardust is copying updates I add to digital press, so really that's the best resource as the stuff on NA is all out of date due to firmware upgrades.
Sup tonooki been awhile since I last spoke to you on the boards at NA but all is cool now How's your Wii U collecting faring been wanting to get one but don't want to buy the refurb one at Nintendo trying to get a used one or good deal at newegg saw one for about $250 brand new. Anyways nice to see you again .

Things are better being where I am now, and as far as the WiiU goes, it's on hold. I fell out of love with the lack of something to play that wasn't made by Nintendo, not that the games I have are done. The last 2 games I've got for it are DKC and Resident Evil which aren't finished, COD Ghosts before that which is.
I have a feeling after a little while people are going to figure out how to load even n64 roms on this thing. The hardware is powerful enough if even the raspberry pi can do it. I bet you will be able to dump your rom collection on the SD card and load them through a pop up interface. Maybe that is just wishfull thinking to have a console just for emulation with scaling/filters and 1080p output that works with native controllers.
USB in the back, suppose you could rig up some adapter. It's the small side of the port back there though not the main rectangular plug.
I'm sure it'll get cracked, even the tech said it would be as there's like no security at all on it. I think if people just figure out how to open it up and then apply the rockchip stuff over at the chip makers website that'll be the end of the wall in the way on that one.

Then we again get to the same point, a PC can do all of it and more.
Perhaps but the PC isn't as convenient for many. Sure some have laptops or their PCs rigged into their TV as it is now, but for many it's a chore. Also the PC has typically Windows, a resource hog with all its own overhead and problems too, plus you'll need to buy some USB jacks to take the various different controllers the R5 does to use them as well.
There's benefits and drawbacks to either whatever they may be once the R5 is busted open by someone for general abuse.
