Wait, IPS patching?! So would that entail the game in the cart slot + the patch on an SD card? Amazing if that could actually work someday.

New here but could u post links to NA and DB specifically the anything retron 5 related? Not sure what those. Just for legitimacy I'm a 40 year old disabled vet with 4 kids not some punk ass just looking to troll.

Since my retron is MIA from amazon (black model still on pre order) I dug out both mine and my bros snes just to see what carts work and neither system works although my bros already showed video. The case on his is real good no yellowing so I'll probably pick up a cheap yellowed working system and swap out housings. So much for long term garage storage.

Those decks probably work. I bet your carts need cleaning. Use a high percentage alcohol and Q-Tips to clean them. Also, check the power supply. Though it may not seem safe, you can plug it in and touch the end to your tongue. You should feel a little tingle if it is getting juice. Dont worry, it will not hurt. Odds of both decks crapping out are pretty long. Truthfully, I have never run into a Snes that was DOA. There is a lot of support on this site for fixing and maintaining these old systems.

He's asking to link any discussion threads at NA and DB (not sure what board this is) here so he can follow along. Seems reasonable for anyone looking to follow the product (this is prob the best thread you're going to find though ;).

Thanks you put it more eloquently than my sleep deprived mind could. I mainly wanted to keep up on the firmware updates and the like. Keep informed on some of the more technical aspects of the system software.

As for the 2 snes mine was in an active children's toy box for several years and a varmint infested garage for several others. Don't have much hope for it. It still powers on but no signal output at all. I did give my brothers a thorough cleaning with 96% alcohol and it does output a signal but just a black 4:3 screen. It probably can be fixed but I'd just rather replace it. I have a nes toploader I've been procrastinating modding for composite output. Already got the part off eBay just got to get off my ass and do it.

I have so many projects and I'm collecting for several systems. I've got to be choosy about where I put my money. I've just about finished collecting for my dreamcast, my main focus as of now is snes, gba and genesis for obvious reasons. I follow a guy on YouTube (Adam Koralik) and he's really helped with the DC. Got a VGA box, hdmi upscaler for it. Got a top max arcade stick and a dual blaze stick for it along with a pair of light guns. Love playing shmups and house of the dead with the family.

I've also got a nice 34" Sanyo 4:3 flat screen with svideo and component inputs and lightgun support. I hook all my retro systems to it and they look great on it. Have a nice 27 inch and a few other older smaller sets I keep around for older systems. Anyway that's just a little info on where I'm at in gaming. I'm not worried anymore what people think about my love for gaming at my age. My kids couldn't be happier about it.
