Hey guys, I could use some advice from anyone willing to share their thoughts...
I was given a bluray player as a gift. It retails for 200$.
My Grandmother (bless her) was feeling generous this year and she gave me 200$! (I haven't been this rich in years).
Should I:
A) Buy a 360 game or 2 and some blu ray movies (something like Fallout 3 or Left 4 Dead... maybe the new PoP)
B) return the bluray player for 200 bucks, add the 200 from grams and buy a PS3?
I probably wouldn't play any games on it except Little Big Planet, although I am definitely going to hurt if I don't have a PS3 when team Icos game comes out (mmm shadow of the colossus)
What would you do?
Advice?

Re: Advice?
I enjoy movies in HD and I enjoy games. Since you're basically trading in the blu-ray player to get another blu-ray player plus a game machine, I'd say you're well off doing that.
Uncharted and Heavenly Sword are awesome on the PS3, I'd recommend those if your going to grab some games for it.

Why has this thread existed for so long without anyone pimping out Valkyria Chronicles? That game alone almost makes it worth owning a PS3 for.

i dont see anything wrong with getting a ps3, but you might want to think twice about spending all your money with rough economic times...

From what I'm guessing, he's a bit on the younger side, and rough economic times probably aren't going to effect him as much.fox099 wrote:i dont see anything wrong with getting a ps3, but you might want to think twice about spending all your money with rough economic times...
Personally I don't like Sony or their products, but then again BluRay is Sony as well. Anyways, BluRay is a load of shit, drop the shit... you aren't losing any money by returning the Blu-Ray player and buying a PS3. You also get a copy of "Little Big Planet" in the deal which is the SHIT! And lastly in the weird chance Blu-Ray dies out (like I hope it too) you will have something a console left over worth more then just playing some stupid weird middle ground format no one adopts because this HD revolution over DVD is a load of fucking crap and in a couple years time we're going to have yet another more reliable format that has better video quality and isn't a load of garbage like Blu-Ray.
Fuck you sony!
Re: Advice?
Is there really any equipment out that can take full advantage of a Blu-Ray players capabilities?

Re: Advice?
That's an obvious answer.... Get the PS3. It IS a Blu-Ray player....
So there you go. You get a fantastic system and a blu-ray player made by the people who invented blu-ray technology.
Plus, as was said before, Valkyria Chronicles is the best game I've ever played and it's PS3 exclusive.
