That said, I do like some anime. I like Afro Samurai (obviously), pretty much anything from Studio Ghibli, and Spice & Wolf and Idk if the anime aficionado's consider it anime but The Boondocks.
Come on bro... you can say it. You can say
weeb.

And, some anime tries too hard to sexualize things. Most female characters in anime aren't even female, they are just walking, unrealistic breasts. They aren't even characters, they don't matter.

...See, now I could just throw that ^ out there, and then just ignore all anime, and use this as the reason. But, that would be close-minded of me, and I know I would potentially miss out on something good by ignoring an entirety of entertainment.

I just hate to see someone blanket dismiss something. Get that "I just don't like American animation" out of your head. You don't even know if you like it or not, since I doubt you've seen all of it.

That "All anime is 10x better than all cartoons" is what sparked my response. To me, it is similar to saying "All Nintendo games are better than all Sony games", and then backing it up by saying Uncharted tried to hard to deliver its story.

Doing that ^ would invite terms like "Nintendo fanboy", and doing it with anime invites terms like "weeaboo" (I'm not calling you this). Sure, there is a chance that you are just completely unprejudiced and just so happen to only like animation that Japan puts out, regardless of its country of origin, just as its possible that a Nintendo fanboy has no loyalty to Nintendo, approaches every game objectively, and just so happens to only like games on Nintendo systems. But, more likely than not, something else is affecting the judgment here.

Just be open-minded maaaaan. :)
Very well stated. I thought you were being serious with those first two paragraphs, glad I was wrong. Not that those aren't true of some cartoons and animes though...

Ah yes, American animation hasn't been known for exaggeration at times, ever.

I would be open minded but darn it if I'm becoming like a crotchety old man when I just can't stand the modern cartoons that Cartoon Network is spitting out. Any decent ones I liked they got rid of them within a season or two. Spongebob and fairly odd parents are still decent and I can't complain about gravity falls and phineas and ferb. But would be great if others I liked didn't get cancelled way too soon...

I never said that. Idk why but I can appreciate that kind of exaggeration but not the kind found in anime. Plus there's the fact that most anime is aimed at adults and Looney Tunes is for kids.

...you know the Looney Tunes shorts were actually targeted at an adult audience right?

When you get down to it, I'd say the majority of animation is aimed at adults, or at least has jokes aimed at adults (90's cartoons are a good example of the latter.)
