I like Drive. Reminds me of my care-free days. What's different about the DC?

Well based on my research, the soundtrack was changed and it seems some scenes revealing a little more about the character back stories were cut. The version I saw is supposedly the director's cut, so I don't really know how the other version compares

I think both versions are up somewhere on youtube though

It kind of surreal some of similarities between Drive and Rush Hour. I wouldn't say that Rush Hour ripped off this movie, but it's definitely using the same playbook

Anyone else interested in the possibility of a Top Gun 2? I can't wait to see what they come up with if the project actually gets off the ground.

See it.

My quickest, worst review ever: If you don't see it, you're being a dick to yourself.
The first showing in Atlanta is part of the Atlanta Film Festival later this week. I'm looking into getting a ticket....

All I can say is Holy Fuck.

All action film fans must see this movie.
Intense and insane isn't it?
I feel like I'm posting in this thread too much right now, but I got five days off work and have been on a movie watching spree

You know what? I never got the hype for the first Raid movie. I thought it was good, but not the second coming or anything. This one on the other hand...goddamn. It actually lives up to the hype. That really was one of the greatest action movies I've ever seen. It's everything I wanted the first movie to be. There are so many amazing action set pieces here and they scratch so many different itches and bring to mind so many other great action movies. One action set piece reminds me of a scene from Old Boy(the original one). Another one feels like something right out of a Fast and Furious movie. And the movie just seems to keep amping things up with each action scene outdoing the previous ones.

And the biggest surprise? The story's good. This is like a classic crime drama married to a balls out action movie. Off the top of my head, the story kind of mirrors Sleeping Dogs in a lot of ways. It immediately grabbed my attention in the first 5 minutes of the movie with a surprising scene that will mean nothing to people who didn't see the first movie but is kind of a shock for those of us who have.

The Raid 2 is top notch stuff and delivers way more action than necessary for me to have come out of it satisfied. It's practically spoiling action fans.

Marky Mark will star as THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN.

Sounds like it will actually make for a great Summer Blockbuster.

I'm all for TOP GUN 2. But Maverick would have to play coach to a new hot head. Maybe he saves the day at the end, but I don't want a replay of the first film. And they also must not fuck with the soundtrack. You don't screw with perfection.

Would love to see a THE FOUR AMIGOS! with Bill Murray being the addition. Those guys aren't getting any younger, neither is the target demo of those who grew up with THE THREE AMIGOS. Plus, we really need another comedy classic.

I agree with the not messing with the sound track 100%. At the end of the original Top Gun, it was implied that Mavrick would be an instructor at the Top Gun school. So, they need to stick with that IMO.

Basically a chick flick written by a guy, and as such feels a little more true to life than most romance movies are. I enjoyed this one. It's got some funny moments, particularly one when the movie is basically making fun of most romance movies. Tony Danza is great in this too

I'm confused. This got some positive reviews and a lot of good buzz, but I didn't think it was a very good movie. The plot is convoluted. At times I was like, "Wait, what just happened?" or "Wait, who the hell is that guy?". The movie also frequently references past events that make you feel like there was a movie before this that you missed seeing, even though that's not the case. The action scenes are not very good. It's Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon style fights but very poorly done. The characters aren't very engaging. They all just seem there to service the plot and nothing more. As a result, emotional moments carry zero weight. There's also some really bad CGI. I wanted to like this one, but bleh. Now, I wonder if I should bother watching this:

WAY more interested in Bill & Ted's 3 than Top Gun 2, but I'll probably see it if it comes out.
