Why the negative assumptions?

Because the first game was a letdown and the sequel is hitting an underpowered, low selling console...BogusMeatFactory wrote:To answer your question, I must remind you who you quotedpepharytheworm wrote:Yes it was playable. This is just your opinion, and not a reason to assume that this one is having issues. Bayonetta has a pretty damn high rating of 90 on metacritic. Tdsheinem wrote:

he sequel is hitting a fairly similarly powered console and from what I udnerstand being funded by Nintendo themselves.
We'll wait and see, but there has been literally nothing to suggest that Bayonetta 2 is having issues

1. Metacritic gave first game a high score, something you have used to cite in the past to compare games. If the games are not to your taste I get that, but thinking there might be issues due to you not liking the first makes little since to me.dsheinem wrote: Because the first game was a letdown and the sequel is hitting an underpowered, low selling console...
2. Why would being on a "underpowered" console affect how you'll like the new game. Does the current PS3 games now disintrest you? Is your Vita now outdated? Did you not recently buy a retro themed game on WiiU? Was Mario Kart not enjoyable?
3. 6.2 million consoles sold. 2 million more than XB1, 2 million less than PS4. Has an exclusive game ever been awful because it was on a system that wasn't selling as well? Dreamcast or Saturn exclusives compromised because the systems didn't sell as well as others?
Your reasons mostly make since if this was a multi-console port for Xb1, PS4 and WiiU.

I don't have much experience with part 1, but I recall it being pretty well-received.dsheinem wrote: Because the first game was a letdown and the sequel is hitting an underpowered, low selling console...
The fact that the Wii U is underpowered and low-selling doesn't quite correlate with game quality. Both the Wii U and Vita are in the hole financially but have great libraries of games.
Shifting gears, is Super Mario 3D World generally considered better than 3D Land? I'm replaying Land right now and I think I have to consider this the best 3D Mario and one of the best 3D platformers. So if there's a superior game out there, well damn.

I have been sunk!
So yeah, I am very skeptical but mostly for reasons that have to do with my own perception of those involved...

"Without getting into some stuff that is both business and confidential, the simple question I’d like to ask you is, ‘Do you want to play Bayonetta 2?’ Bayonetta 2 would not exist without Nintendo white knighting that project. So while I totally understand that people want to play it on the platforms that they’ve played it on previously, we really wanted to make Bayonetta 2."dsheinem wrote:I also thought it had been delayed a few times, and I wonder if that might have to do with working on other versions for other (more powerful) platforms.

That makes me think that they had to make some compromises from their original vision for the Wii U (does this refer to things like framerate/graphics, story, or what?)When the business situation changed and we couldn’t make it the way that we were originally planning on making it, we definitely wanted to make sure that our project survived.
I'd still not be shocked to see it on another console or PC by the end of 2015…and perhaps a better version, at that.
