Isn't that against KS rules though? I thought you had to be providing an actual item or service that you would get in return for putting money up and neither an item or service comes into play until the stretch goals.

That said though best kickstarter I've ever seen.
I don't think there's any obligation to give backers anything in the KS TOS. Rather, you say you need money to do something/produce something, and people vote with their wallets as to whether or not that thing is worthwhile. Since many things have ended up as something consumers might want many of the tiers involve getting the product, but that isn't required for it to be a valid KS.

While I think this is pretty funny I'm going to keep this in mind for the next time someone complains about a kickstarter project asking for too much or whatever.
Sadly I think if the 'donate excess to charity' angle was there from the get go it would've gotten less money.
that's the internet for you
What? I thought my money was going to some idiot's jokey potato salad. You mean I'm actually giving my money to help people that actually need it!? Malarky!

Well I refuse to support anything that has to do with youtube so I'm safe.
Did you know those yoga guys are going to start demanding a percentage of sales of games that they feature now? They can go right ahead and fuck themselves. I hope they get hit with tons of copyright claims and have most of their videos taken down.

There may actually be a legal infraction somewhere in the mix as many youtube personalities are paid to promote product and they do not state that they are being paid to do so, which is against the law. We shall see!
