FIFA is going to investigate Juan Zuniga's attack on Neymar. Such a shame, this was a great World Cup up until this point and I believe the poor officiating and the ensuing incidents have marred how fantastic this tournament has been. That referee should have seen his last match IMO.

jfrost, there's not any historic tensions between the two nations or teams, are there? It's not like you're bitter rivals. It seems like everyone in South America cheers on fellow South American teams except for Argentina.

There isn't. Besides Argentina, we're cool with the rest of South America. The other team we have a bit of a rivalry with is Uruguay, but that has faded substantially over the years.

Belgium not handling Messi very well so far. They charge forwards in numbers and leave him in acres of space. It could lead to a situation where Vinnie or Van Buyten give away a penalty.

Fabio Cannavaro is on the punditry team in the UK. Hardly speaks a word of english. Doesn't matter. My man crush on him is eternal.

You MUST be kidding me . I wasn't watching the game. FFS even we scored a goal against them, wtf Netherlands. Where's the 5-1 against Spain now? (or was that 4-0? I already forgot)

Now I only want 2 potential finals, Germany-Netherlands or Brazil-Argentina.

By the nine, Costa Rica rode their luck in that game. Holland should have put them to bed earlier than penalties. They just kept playing the same balls and trying (and failing) to spring that offside trap. And I am staggered at the poor quality of corners at this world cup. Play it short for once.

Looking increasingly like a repeat of the 86 and 90 final. Hopefully more 86 than 90.

Finally got to see a game end with penalty kicks! It was pretty hype just like a hockey shootout, but with more goals

I dreamed this year's World Cup finals.

89 minutes in, last play of the game, Higuaín finds Messi free on the right, he cuts inside, Daniel Alves isn't able to catch him. Thiago Silva arrives, Messi scoops the ball over him and passes to Di Maria. He, unforgivingly, sends a torpedo to Júlio Cesar's right corner. The keeper is unable to reach the ball and it ends up at the back of the net.

The referee blows the whistle immediately, ending the game.

Brazil 5-1 Argentina.
