Another dead island game announced:

Escape represents a crucial bridge between the events of Dead Island and Dead Island 2, and will finally reveal the origins of the virus, even some tantalizing clues where the events are going to lead... but it's going to be up to you to decide what to believe. That's because this story-driven, single-player game is played through the eyes of Cliff Calo, who's watching his world unravel.
That's cute they think their history is good.

Yeah those are freakin awesome. I will buy anything ShadowFox makes after getting my hands on those.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed

Theoretically I would love to get stuff like those cases + a bunch of cover project art... but at this point getting cases/art for every loose game I own would end up costing several hundred dollars, maybe even a thousand, and I doubt I have the shelf space anyway.

Well I know someone said to go to the video shopper for all the cart based games(right now it looks like they're selling 1 case(100 cases) of the ugc's for 59, not to mention those gb ones don't seem to bad and supposedly fit everything from gb to gba.

Wow, I'm tempted to snag a set of those for my GB/GBC games that are currently in modded DS cases (remove the bottom of the GBA slot and it's not 100% keeping games clipped in). I wish he also had a mold for GG games, since that requires much more extensive modding of a DS case and it really doesn't hold anything in place properly; it's just better than nothing.

If you're talking game gear then I think I saw someone use some foam and get them to fit...they don't snap in but it looks decent and apparently keeps it in.

I'm considering playing around to create my own game, or just mess with the tools and try to create a story, if nothing else. The hard part for me is deciding whether I would want to make the game top down or isometric. I feel like an isometric view would allow for a bit more room in the creation and design areas, but I feel like top down would be easier. I also feel like isometric would limit movement options some, and I'm not sure how well it would play with say, a d-pad.

I also have no idea of how combat would work. I want to avoid turn based, but also have it contain multiple moves and playstyles. If this game were to have guns, I would like to set it up to have a reload button.

There's a bunch of other thoughts I have about it to. I was thinking either going Mad Max or low fantasy type of setting, with the Fallout style of certain decent sized open locations, with traveling between being filled with encounters, or possible small places to stay in between. I would want a looting system, though not too many items so the whole time isn't spent looking for items. It wouldn't be overly based on stats or skills either. Depending on the tools, I'm not sure how I would set up cut scenes or dialogue.

I can't stand Techland as a developer. It never feels like they put any hint of passion in their games.

Im willing to give them a second chance. Im kinda want to try the GOTY of dead island since it has extra stuff and is patched. Dying light seems the game i wanted dead island to be, so im hoping it is not dissapointing.
