AH!
That would explain why google was suggesting "Centigrade to Celsius" for my search when I was converting to Fahrenheit

Am i the only one who on the way to and from work listens to the radio for music and notice that they only play male artists for the most part no matter the genre? I mean there's a female one thrown in every now and then but it feels like ever 40th song i hear is a female song and that's a low ratio of male to female artists play rate.

Depends on the genre? I listen to rock music which is mostly recorded by men, but when someone has a radio station playing pop music I hear a lot more female artists than I do male ones.

I don't know, it just seems no matter the genre if you search out women artists(I don't listen to pop, rap or anything where you can't really hear a instrument in the background) there's some decent ones whether it be rock, classic rock, country or what have you. But they seem to only give airtime to men which does seem to lead to little variety in what they play...

Again I repeat it's probably a matter of the genre. I wouldn't say the biggest problem when it comes to lack of variety in music is the sex of the singer.

Saying that "no matter the genre" and ignoring Pop, in which female voices are probably more common than men is kind of weird.

It truly depends on the genre, there are far more female singers than female electronica composers.

Well I just dont' listen to pop but it seems like in the genres that I do listen to there is a plethora of women artists(which doesn't mean they're all good but eh) there doesn't seem to be much deviation from what's popular and apparently women are not popular even though they make some of the better music that I hear in the respective genres...

There's a wide variety of factors, if you're talking about what gets on the radio I think it's safe to say that it's an institutional thing. Big labels care about what they think is 'marketable' more than anything else.

The latest US job stats are out and you have.....6.1% unemployment....um....ok I'm curious, how log was the unemployment before the economic crisis for you guys to still be complaining about unemployment? 6.1% is amazingly low.
