I have never seen anything as kiddie as the Wii . I believe some critics started calling it a "toy".
Critics called ALL game consoles toys up until last generation.

They are "meant to be played by adults", which is appealing to kids. As an adult, I don't really care either way if a game has violence and boobs, I just care about the gameplay. Nintendo does good gameplay, Platinum Games does as well. I don't see either as being "for kids" or "for adults"
Many adults do. The racketboy members are a more unique group that, from my observations, dont really represent the 'average gamer' or video game consumer.

A lot of 'mature' modern gaming seem to target an incredibly insecure audience of teens to young adults who need it reinforced to them at all times that they're playing "adult" entertainment.

LOOK SEE IT'S FOR GROWNUPS IT'S GOT BLOOD AND GUTS AND BOOBS AND SWEARING AND STUFF.

Uh... Care to name any games that specifically target this generalized audience?

That stuff has its place and appeal. For example, Game of Thrones wouldnt be near the same, or as good, if it were PG or Teen.

Why do you insinuate those who enjoy that in their media are insecure?

Target and being the target are not the same thing. I can target an audience but more than that are going to buy it and it doesn't mean if you buy it you are the target. Remember when you said we aren't the average gamer? It applies here as well.

A lot of people saying Nintendo is kiddie is a good example of the insecure audience about their gender, sexualty, maturity or masculinity. Why do they deem nintendo kiddie and why is kiddie a bad thing? That sounds a lot like insecurity at being labled childish. "Boobs and blood and swearing" have there place and not all those who like it are insecure, but if that is all you like that is a little telling.
