Original Xbox imports?

Post by ninjainspandex »

So after I got a modded Xbox I checked out Metal Wolf Chaos and Double STEAL 2. Any other games that were only released in japan or PAL land?

I know about the Shikigami and Psyvariar games but they are also available on other consoles, I'm looking for Xbox exclusives.

N.U.D.E is another one you'll want.

Metal Dungeon was also cool. Here is a full list:

How many of those games on that list are worth playing and not just dating sims?

What about PAL only games? I know about Taito Legends 2 but thats about it

There are is a small handful of exclusive RPGs like Braveknight, Tenerezza, Thousand Land, and Shin Megami Tensei Nine. I'm gonna import a couple of these now that I have a modded console.

Do they have english translations yet? Rather not slog through an RPG I can't understand ;)

I don't think any have translations. RPGs are just the first thing that comes to mind when I think imports.

Apparently Rent a Hero was slated for a US release but was canceled at the last minute, in fact it was fully translated and the ISO was leaked onto the web. I have that full english US release ISO saved to my HDD. I can see why it was not released, it is VERY Japanese and has that Japanese wierdness that most Americans probably wouldn't get.

Read issue number 4 of scroll.vg titled "the unseen xbox". Ray Barnholt reviews these import games.

For PAL only games try Conan a bit run of the mill but not too bad better than aquaman. Also leisure suit Larry PAL version is a bit more risque. Punisher PAL version forgoes that black and white bullshit when you do those environment kills and is bloody in it's uncensored glory.

Some other titles that come to mind for FPS Gene Troopers decent more adventure driven shooter, Daemon Vector kinda fun hack and slash, Miami Vice crappy fun game in the bien of Bad Boys Miami Takedown. Ghostmaster IMO spiritual successor no pun intended to Haunting starring Polterguy on the genesis pretty fun game.

And lastly for the unreleased games The Red Star pretty good beat'em up that is the same game that was released for the PS2 in america. And the original Xbox version of Kameo before it got ported to the 360 IMO a game that was already set for released but slated for the Xbox 360 launch. There is enough differences IMO that warrant at least a play through :).
