Yeah, not much. She just started playing Super Mario Brothers on her Nintendo DS, so I may be a bit overzealous in getting her into gaming. She has a Xbox 360 at her moms, but I'm not sure how much she plays it.

I'm pretty sure she'll like the Mario games. Through the little bit of research I've done, it sounds like Mario Kart DD is the best Mario/Mario-related game for the GC. Obviously I'd like something we both can play together (i.e. something that will hold my interest as well).

Unfortuntely for my daughters, I never had the son I always wanted so they will have to bear the brunt of me trying to "force" them to enjoy my boy hobbies. I have lost hope on them liking football, but video games show promise...

The next on my list are Doshin the Giant, Bleach GC, Kururin Squash, Homeland, and Giftpia. Soon, I hope to own every single decent-or-better game released for the cute little cube. Even after all this time, it's nice to retain my position as Racketboy Forums' resident GameCube fangirl. ^_^
Kururin Squash is Awesome! Definitely get that one! The small Japanese box/case for it is pretty cool too.

My Gamecube collection is quite large. I have roughly 125-150 games for the system. I have nearly all or all of the worthwhile games. My favorite game is Eternal Darkness, without question. Chibi-Robo is probably number 2.

I think the best way to describe Pikmin is "The Smurfs: The strategy game (where they fight back)"

Just added Billy Hatcher to my collection. With that I'm about 90% sure I'm done obtaining GameCube games for a while. Quite content with what I have.

That is another one I've been meaning to add(besides wind waker for the pure reason that's the system it started on and I'd rather play it on there). After those two it's just the hidden gems and other fun ones that I didn't know about that I have to collect :D

Billy Hatcher is an excellent collect-a-thon. Given its choice of genre, it feels like it should have fit in better as an early-era Dreamcast title. In fact, I'm sure it started preproduction that way.

(Fun fact, I noticed a while back that one of the bars played during the jingle for collecting an emblem in Billy Hatcher is just a sped-up version of the Dreamcast startup sound!)

Anyone have Animal Crossing? Would a 9 year old girl like it?

Bonus (for me) is that it looks like it has a bunch of NES classic games I can unlock. My question on that is when you unlock the games can you play them from the initial start up menu? Or do you have to access them through actual Animal Crossing gameplay each time?

From in-game, but it's as soon as you start up as the nes games are in your house.

It is wonderful for people of all ages, although it is reading heavy, so if she has any issues there it's worth bearing that in mind.

NES games can be unlocked, but are rare and you won't find them very easily or quickly. They must always be accessed in game, they appear as a little NES console you can put in your house.

The best ways to get NES games are to win the monthly raffle (which requires saving up raffle tickets earned through shop purchases) and recieving one as a christmas present (which actually happens at christmas as the game plays out in real time). There used to be code generators where you could put characters names and town names in and choose an item and it swould generate a code you could give the shopkeeper to recieve it. If you can find one of these, it might be easiest for you to create your own character (each town can have up to 4!) and just give in a bunch of these codes to create your own NES collection.

The more "GameCube gem" videos I see, the more titles I start putting on my list. I have two backwards compatible Wii's (plus the GC) so I feel like this system still has a pulse collecting-wise for me.

I'm still hunting Kirby's Air Ride and looking into the Star Fox games on the platform.
