Even if not, LBP Vita had pretty heavy "Puppet" themes.

There is a marionette in Chibi-Robo - Park Patrol on the DS. He features pretty heavily in the game as an NPC.

FFXI has a Puppetmaster job that was introduced in Treasures of Aht Urgan. It's a pet job with an Automaton to equip and command.

It ties back to the lore for the continent, and in turn the mission series for the expansion. As I recall, the iron colossus that XI's version of Alexander possesses is basically a puppet. The central NPC for ToAU's story is a PUP, following in her mother's footsteps, with a couple (possessed) puppets as companions.

Offhand, there are Troll PUPs as far as beastmen go.

The ones I can remember...

Metal Gear Ac!d some of the cutscenes have puppets
There is the Dollmaster class in Ogre Battle
There is a level in Shining Force where there are doll enemies
There is a Muppet pinball game on the GBA (and it is pretty good, too!)

But he's specifically wind up, not dangling from strings. I mean he has a key in his back and the US game is called "Clockwork Knight". :P

Black Knight Sword reminds me of puppets. I'm not sure if they actually are though.

Also, there are a lot of Muppet video games.

Actually, Geno is the name of the doll. The star's name was gibberish symbols.
