Hmm, was it worse than the other (also terrible) Transformers movies? My almost-five year old wants to see it, but I am a bit put off by the 2hour, 45min runtime. Is at least 2 hours of that awesome robot on robot fighting?catnip wrote: Transformers - God, was this movie terrible. Aside from Baysplosions and Marky Mark, I haven't seen a worse movie in a while. The writing was god-awful, acting was bad, and the girl's white coat stayed completely white and dirt-free while she tumbled out of cars, got captured by robots and put in a gross prison thing, etc. It was just bad.
What was the last movie you've seen?

Be put off, man. It's rough. I've only watched the second Transformers movie and this one, and I'd say this was worse, mainly because of the runtime. There was a lot of robo-fighting, but I'm not sure if there'd be enough to keep an almost-five year old entertained for three hours, y'know? That said, I'm no expert on little ones. If you can convince them to want to see "How to Train Your Dragon 2," I'd say that's a much better time.dsheinem wrote: Hmm, was it worse than the other (also terrible) Transformers movies? Final Fantasy IX is the best one

Or you know you could watch the 1980's transformers movie(I've seen the new ones too and they're not great but decent imho)...definitely better than the live action ones

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I watched four this weekend:
1. The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec - as extraordinary as the name suggested. It is a female Tintin with Indiana Jones elements and a heavier emphasis on comedy. Highly recommended if you enjoy goofy French films.
2. The Adventurer: The Curse of the Midas Box - I watched it because it has Sam Neill in it. It is not a great film, but it was interesting, very Librarian like. Sam Neill made an excellent villain, it had some good twists, and it was quite pretty. I enjoyed it but I hesitate to suggest it to anyone.
3. Ali - Despite it looking like a memorial film, I firmly believe this is Will Smiths greatest work. He looked, sounded, and fought, like Ali.
4. Waynes World - Party on.

This is a really, really fun film, and I also recommend it very highly. If my five-year-old daughter could read the subtitles, I am confident that she would have loved it. (Along with attending a live opera performance, my wife and I have used this film as yet another argument supporting our position that she needs to learn to read ASAP.)fastbilly1 wrote:1. It is a series of comic books aswell, if you need more of a reason to get her reading:prfsnl_gmr wrote:This is a really, really fun film, and I also recommend it very highly. I ordered a couple of them for my vacation and I hope they come in in time.

This is the second complaint about that girl's white coat I've read in the last 5 minutes. Only Michael Bay could crapicize a movie about giant robot dinosaurs.

Thank you! I was just about to post this as I feel Racketboy needs a lot more Red Letter Media!Hobie-wan wrote:Explaining death to a <5 year old, probobly not on the to do list.darsparx wrote:Or you know you could watch the 1980's transformers movie(I've seen the new ones too and they're not great but decent imho)...definitely better than the live action ones
