Re: Summer Games Challenge 2014
I haven't touched Metroid Prime since the last time I mentioned it. Stuff has been going on, and I had to spend a good chunk of time physically moving a lot of games into new storage.
But at least now more than half of what I own is easily accessible.
I'll give it another shot tomorrow.
I might just start Spyro regardless if I finish Prime or not.

Yeah yellow is a odd one though....it's my favorite Pokemon yet every time I've gotten into it and gotten far something comes up and I have to stop playing for a bit so this time I swear I'm going to play and beat it

Too new to be a "classic". May as well play Assassin's Creed 4 or somethingsoul_hacker wrote: 3. The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
this one is a bit "cult classic"…I'd not say it is a "wall of shame" pick but I'd think there are a lot of other PS2 games in the same genre that you'd be able to make a better case for playing for the challenge...4. Odin Sphere

Like college lovers, R-Type Delta and I are "taking a break" right now. I am fooling around with Nectaris: Military Madness right now, but I will probably come crawling back to R-Type Delta when I am through with it.noiseredux wrote:Though I consider you a buddy, I am enjoying watching Delta crush your spirit and am looking forward to it eating your soul before September.
I rarely give up on a game because it bored me. Odin Sphere bored me to tears, and I would not consider it a "good" game, much less a classic. (I wanted so badly to like it, but I was so disappointed with it.)dsheinem wrote:this one is a bit "cult classic"…I'd not say it is a "wall of shame" pick but I'd think there are a lot of other PS2 games in the same genre that you'd be able to make a better case for playing for the challenge...4. The difference in quality between that game and Muramasa is absolutely staggering.prfsnl_gmr wrote: I rarely give up on a game because it bored me. I agree completely. Muramasa is amazing, and I wish Odin Sphere had been more like it.BoneSnapDeez wrote:The difference in quality between that game and Muramasa is absolutely staggering.prfsnl_gmr wrote: I rarely give up on a game because it bored me. Re: Summer Games Challenge 2014
So it's been about a month since I last posted here, largely because of my two online classes, internship, part-time job, and helping my parents move all teamed up and ate all the free-time/sleep I could have possibly had in the past few weeks. My parents and younger siblings are all settled in, and my online classes both end on Tuesday. Then my girlfriend and I go to Japan on Thursday, which I am 18 different kinds of pumped for.
Anyway, I finally had a free weekend, and picked up Resident Evil 4 again. I'm on chapter 5-2, and it keeps getting better and better. Remember what I said about it not being scary enough? Well, that got better too. Ashley and Leon are now out of the garbage disposal area and onto a large chunk of map on the Island. I have what I think is the largest case, carrying a Blacktail pistol, Striker shotgun, Semi-Auto Rifle, and the Killer7 magnum. All with a decent amount of upgrades, mostly pooled into firepower. I also stocked up about 20 grenades. My total gameplay time is about 18 hours, having left the game paused many times. I think I've died 10 times? 12 max.
The magnum is amazingly useful during boss battles, and when fighting heavy duty enemies. I probably won't beat RE4 until I return from the land of the rising sun, but I will be playing (and likely beating) Shantae on the plane rides. That's on my list. After our return, I'll finally have time to beat the rest of my summer games.
Resident Evil 4 is totally baller, and you should all play it.

I need to try that game again sometime... I quit after you have to start protecting Ashley because ugh, she's annoying. Remember liking it before then though.scarper wrote:Resident Evil 4 is totally baller, and you should all play it.
Anyways, I started up Oracle of Ages today. I had a save file that was about half way through so I'm playing from that instead of starting a new game, since I didn't quit playing it that long ago.
Since loading it, I've finished off the Skull Dungeon (which I had left unfinished for some reason), beat the Crown Dungeon, and I'm on my way to the Mermaid's Cave. Unfortunately, in order to get there, I have to face my least favourite thing about this game... mini games. Normally I wouldn't mind that sort of thing but:
1) Nearly all of them (if not all) are required to progress in the story
2) They all require rupees
3) Most of them are freaking difficult
Luckily I can use save states so I don't have to worry about 2 as much, but it's still super annoying to do these over and over and over. The one I'm stuck on is especially frustrating, since you have to avoid getting hit by bombs that just go flying at you from every direction. I'm sure I'll beat it eventually, but I really wish I didn't have to in the first place ><;
