I always forget Maximum Carnage, though I was unaware Doom was in Red.

And I didn't know about the Green one on N64 either, but to be honest I was never really a big N64 fan.

You forgot the gba and gbc ones. Pokemons are always different colors and on gbc we got a few clear carts so I count those and I swear there were a few others too ha ha

Oh, there probably were. I personally have never been a massive collector of handhelds so they don't enter my consciousness as well. PLUS I occasionally forget that even for a forum about retro games, I'm in the upper 20% or so for age. When I hear "Like Nintendo used to do", I'm thinking NES, SNES, o.g. Game Boy... and that's about it

All GBC carts are clear (Other than Pokemon, etc).
Clear Carts = GBC only carts
Black Carts = Backwards compatible with original GB, but optimized on GBC.

I have about every color of the rainbow in N64 games  and I love it

Not sure what you mean here though. Up through the last cart system (N64) we've had colored carts? And Game CD's and cases are colored most of the time?

While I don't like it quite as much as I did the first time around, Far Cry 2 is still a better game than Far Cry 3 in my opinion.

Except for the muted colour palette. It makes my eyes water for about 5 minutes while I adjust. That actually still sucks.

Well I was talking more on portable handhelds since those are still cart based for the most part. I mean not even pokemon gets the same treatment it used to(pokemon black's doesn't really count) and i'm pretty sure omega ruby and alpha sapphire won't get the same coloring we originally saw, and it would be nice if that made a comeback on portables  Just seems like a nice change from the norm of gray and occasional black(I've seen in some cases...)

Ohhhh I get what you mean now. Yeah I definitely wish they would color carts, but it seems Nintendo has been using less and less color. After the Gamecube era Nintendo really started making less color controllers and systems too.

Clearly you don't own a DS/3DS  . But yeah unfortunately they don't follow the same logic with their home consoles :/
