I really don't see Brazil winning this. Chile took their penalties poorly. To back up a step I'm not sure why they parked the bus in extra time, to try and tire out Brazil? Both goalkeepers should be be motm. Chile and Brazil both had their fair share of rockets towards the net.

Side note: I hate Neymars stupid stutter step, and Brazil has no solid striker -- Fred and Jo were piss poor. Neymar goes to ground so often it's annoying.

Mr. Sload, I dig a good upset, and love the underdog's chance for glory. I'm hoping Colombia knock them out next match. Costa Rica should send Greece packing too, though their last game had more shots in one game than I saw in any previous whole tournament.

Oh well, Chile should be proud.

That was tense as shit! One of those games where both teams deserve to progress but only one can. Chile were brave and deserve the plaudits they will receive.

Força Brasil!

Quick Edit: This Brazil team has something of the France's 98 winning team. Fred is the new Stephane Guivarc'h.

You guys can tell me all you want about how Brazil played badly, but Chile sucked too.

They did NOTHING the whole game. They came here to wait for the game to end and try their luck on penalties, or maybe find a goal.

Brazil played like crap and I'm frankly disgusted I still have to suffer Daniel Alves, Oscar and Hulk in the starting team. But it is what it is.

I thought Hulk gave a decent display today. Alves tries to be too Hollywood sometimes with his long distance shooting. And I've taken to calling him Granny Alves due to his awful awful hair. I bet Big Phil will tell him to cut that shit out though for the quarter final.

Both teams I thought played quite well. It was a pretty high intensity game. Maybe fewer chances than expected. I don't think Chile parked the bus at all. They fell back towards the end because their key defensive man had gone off and they were cramping up. But then Pinilla's shot could have won it for them.

Good game, yo.

For some reason that picture makes me think about Ghostbusters.

It was tough on Mexico to go out like that but they kept chipping away at Robben and you could see a penalty coming.

James Rodriguez was pretty great last night. The Maradona comparisons are a bit premature but he is obviously very talented. His first would be goal of the tournament in any other world cup.

I feel for the Mexicans. They played better, but weren't cold blooded enough to finish the Dutch off. Snejder's goal dismantled them.
