It is really a sandbox game designed to encourage exploration and hijinks. There's no "story" per se but that doesn't matter…It was $6 the other day and well worth it. You might be surprised how much you enjoy it, especially if you can play it while someone else watches and you get to share laughs...noiseredux wrote:I watched a video of Goat Simulator last night and couldn't figure out what that piece of software is even supposed to be.

I've really grown to appreciate TMNT The Arcade Game for the NES, even though I have better ports.
The added levels are fun, and the game, although inferior to other ports, is still a blast to play.

I like it, but inevitably I just want to play the actual arcade game.Luke wrote:I've really grown to appreciate TMNT The Arcade Game for the NES, even though I have better ports.

For my nes turtle action I turn to The Manhattan Project.

Manhattan is definitely the superior game in all aspects (and the special moves are so cool) but as a kid, anytime I felt like I was bringing the arcade home, I flipped out. Plus I got a free pizza when I bought the game, so that was awesome.
When I played the ports that were included on newer consoles, I thought, "The nes game stinks", but now I really enjoy it as "it's own thing".
And yeah, it is titled "TMNT II The Arcade Game" but like Sonic on the Genesis and Sonic on the SMS, they're different.
I have too many TMNT games to even remember which one holds the original arcade port.

Is there going to be a secret santa this year?
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
It is. The second one was good but you can't really get anywhere without learning that special move that kills everything in one hit.Luke wrote:Manhattan is definitely the superior game in all aspects (and the special moves are so cool)

Am I the only one who really misses the true colored carts that nintendo used to do all the time especially with the big first parties?

"All the time"? There were 2 gold carts on the NES, like 2-3 black ones on the SNES, and I think 1-2 gold and a handful of black on the N64.darsparx wrote:Am I the only one who really misses the true colored carts that nintendo used to do all the time especially with the big first parties?
Unless you're talking Famicom, in which case yeah, they had a frikkin RAINBOW!
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!

Don't forget the the red Maximum Carnage snes cart, or the green Rayman 2 n64 cart. The unlicensed stuff came in a decent variety as well.
But yeah, nothing compares to the famicom.

SNES also had two red carts in Doom and Maximum Carnage...truth be told, I never cared for colored carts, they mess up the overall asthetic of my SNES collectionKalessinDB wrote:"All the time"?
