You know, i heard a similar rumor the other day that Nintendo and Sony where at one time, considering a partnership, in the days of the snes. And similar to the above post, the last line in the contract stated that basically Nintendo could screw Sony out of the deal, and Sony (not literally) gave them the finger and walked the other way.... any truth to this or am i just a victim of somebody's wondrous lie?

There are some interesting nuances to that story, but it's basically accurate. I've heard both that Nintendo screwed Sony with a bad contract, as well as Sony had already been pondering making their own console and screwing Nintendo.
