I never owned this as a kid but I use to play it at a friends heaps. I got a copy for myself like 5 years ago, but never wanted to play it until I got S-video cables, I finally have a gamer oom with a CRT with S-video so I finally got stuck in. I really enjoyed it and can't wait to find the others in the series. It was hard at times, but I never felt it was cheap! Looks amazing with S-video cables.
Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 - PSP
After my high from Lego Batman on the Vita I got into this. Utter shit. Nothing like the console games, stuck on a isometric angle and it is just boring. Slugged through it because I have a digital copy of the sequel on Vita. But I am a bit burnt out on the Lego formula.
Wolfenstein: The New Order - PC
Wow! Other than the problems getting it to run on the PC, this is one of the best single player shooter I have played for years. It is cheesy in all the right ways, it is nazi in all the right ways (I get to shoot them) and the mechanics and set pieces are all really fun. The story is interesting and over the top enough to be enjoyable. Loved it.

I agree. It's my 2014 GOTY so far. Very surprised about how good it was. Honestly I probably would have ignored it if not for all the high praise it's getting. Glad I gave it a chance and bought it.emwearz wrote: Wolfenstein: The New Order - PC

Games Beaten 2014:
1. GTA V(360)
2. Brothers(PSN)
3. Infamous(PS3)*
4. Infamous 2(PS3)
5. Remember Me(PS3 PS+ Freebie)
6. Shadow of the Colossus(PS3 HD Collection)*
7. Watch Dogs(PC)
8. Aliens Colonial Marines(360)
9. Titanfall(PC)
10. Skyward Collapse(PC)
Pretty decent little strategy game. Really liked the concept. It's somewhat like a basic Civilization style turnbased strategy game just with one twist you can't control your units and you are responsible for both of the teams occupying the map. To make matters more difficult you are required to earn points by causing chaos unit deaths the destruction of cities etc. Basically the game centers around stocking the fires of war while trying to prevent things from getting to far out of hand.
The end was kind of a let down for me though. I got an upheaval calamity and where I had been utilizing mountains to erect barriers for cities around the map I ended up getting completely bogged down
. Suddenly every mountain on the map multiplied by four and all my cities were cut off. However I managed to hold out for a few more turns and had hit my quote for death and destruction already so no biggy
.

TotD is legit tough, even if you type well. I played it for the Summer Challenge and am glad I did…I am hoping the sequel pops up in the Steam Summer Sale now
Blood Dragon I played through in two sittings…it is pretty kitschy and clever, though some of the schtick seems a bit overkill at times early on (the second half, however, is awesome). Also, given that you get a particular weapon late in the game, I am not sure what challenge remains for post-game content given that there was virtually none for the last half hour or so. Maybe "lack of challenge" is the point, though.
On one other note, The Typing of the Dead is the 400th game I have beaten since starting to keep track in these threads back in 2010 (4.5 years). When I started thinking about this the other day I decided to write a bit about the experience. I ended up spending a good 3-4 hours in the morning on Wednesday typing up a 5,000 word (non-academic) essay reflecting on the experience and, specifically, on strategies for tackling a backlog. I am currently shopping it around for a home, so I'll keep you posted
On another another note, I'm less sure I'll get to 50 by the end of June than I was. Maybe I'll shoot for 50 by the 4th of July weekend...
