What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

^ Exactly. There's a reason it's called 'the cycle of abuse'.

^True, but it doesn't mean one should accept or condone that behavior, rather just have an understanding of where it comes from (at least partly).

^ Agreed. But one must also remember that, to such people, their abusive behavior isn't considered abusive. In their minds it's completely normal. It's status-quo.

They've essentially been conditioned at a young age to believe that such behavior is, if not socially acceptable, than at least privately acceptable. Most don't even realize what they're doing until it's pointed out to them and even then they may resist change because the sentiments and associations are so foreign that they don't know how to deal with it, and can't deal with it, without the aid of a professionally trained third party.

It's just one more reason we need a better mental health system.

Also, if Jenny was a truly abusive person to Forrest, then she would keep him around and take advantage of him, yet she constantly pushes him away because she is personally ashamed of who she has become and what he would think of her.

Funny you guys mention that because I saw that and quite a few other movies when I went to goodwill earlier should've picked them up since they were .49 pretty sure that's better than they're going rate if anyone even really buys them now.

Finished Black Cauldron too...why in the world was this considered a kids movie? I don't know how as a little kid I didn't have nightmares about the horned king...still a great movie either way

I highly recommend watching, The Secret of Nimh, Watership Down, The Dark Crystal and The Neverending Story. That era of, "Children's Films," were spectacular, but would never be made in this day and age.

I haven't watched Watership Down yet (soon though), greatly recommend Neverending Story, but I watched that back in the day so maybe nostalgia there (but I think it does stand its own).

No nostalgia on these:
The Secret of Nimh is very good, but I watched Dark Crystal recently and I didn't really think it was that good. Worth a watch I guess. I liked the other Henson movie better, the Labyrinth.

Neverending Story as a kids fantasy movie is still good. The sequel is even worse than I remembered though.
