America is all about money, so if the networks can't make a good profit from it then they won't give a primetime slot. I'm also guessing the reason sponsor's logo's are on Euro league uniforms are because of no commercials? I know this will sound dumb but i would hate if American sports teams started wearing big logo's right in the middle where the team's logo is now.
Probably. I don't mind it. Heck, sometimes we end up with cool results :D

EDIT

And more from where that came from:

Stopwatching would serve what purpose? There's already a fourth ref that keeps track of all significant stoppages in play, and uses it to subjectively add to stoppage time.
It would serve the purpose of making the time in a game objective instead of subjective.

Oh hey!

For what reasons is it even needed? I wouldn't be opposed, but the system in place tends to work just fine, hence the role of the fourth referee. It's still the head referee's call for the final say. Out of the spectrum where every other call on the field is subjective, stoppage time tends to have the most objectivity of it all. There's times where the stoppage has very little impact, and there's times where it has been impactful -- IE Robin Van Persie vs. Barcelona. I don't think a stopwatch, counting down from 90:00, or pausing time for injuries is going to do much. The NCAA does it and it seems so awkward. The system doesn't seem broken so at best I see it as a minor gripe or something that people just aren't used to compared to other sports.

Football is played by a running clock. Always has, always will. Otherwise you could hypothetically end up having, say a 60 minute game, stretch out for nearly four hours. And no one wants that, do they?

On topic, Netherlands have a pretty safe run to the semis if they keep their heads. Argentina too.

It probably won't do much 90% of the time. But it adds consistency. And I'm of the opinion that removing the human element from enforcing the rules of the game (a game is 90 minutes, this is the out of bounds line, etc) is a good thing. I found out that there was a massive debate over having an automated system that could tell you if something was actually a goal or not. How is that even a debate? When a game can easily hinge on a single goal why would you want to leave it up to flawed humans to determine if it actually happens or not?

And it's not just soccer; one time when visiting my family a tennis game was on and they don't use the computer system they have to determine if a ball was in or out every time when you would logically expect them to. Ball goes 3 feet out of bounds? Yeah, the ref can call that. Anywhere near the line? Let the computer do it.

Goal line technology is perfectly suited and I'm glad it was added. I'd think you'd have a case in side-line technology but the referees are usually fairly good about being consistent there. I think it's mainly problematic with offsides but honestly it adds to the drama about the whole thing.

And no MrPopo, if you're a robot scheming to take over the world you'll have to do better than that by trying to take over the World's Sport! Keep your machines outta here! :P

That table needs a column for "average injury writhing".

Does that mean that the Portuguese, Dutch and Bosnians are the toughest? Though Brazil seems to be the most robust
