What ever happened to the DS thumb strap?

Post by LCDSCREEN »

Poor DS thumb strap, you were pretty much a useless peice of crap.

I remember using it to play Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt. It let you use both your index fingers so you could tap both the shoulder buttons for super turbo fire! And Super Mario 64, lol. The area in which you would move the thing on the screen would always move around and worked like ass... I believe the port of Rayman 2 "supported" it, what else did?
DS thumb strap, turd that it was, will always remain in my heart. D:
Although I guess you never forgot it if you never bought a DS Lite, which I would suggest you do right now... Or not, it's up to you. I liked the original DS's buttons better but once you go Light, you'll never go Phat.

I still have my thumbstrap attached. I remember in the Mario 64 manual seeing the option to use it. I didn't even bother; I could tell it would handle like ass.

 ...you know, it never occurred to me to use the thing until this thread.

I ordered a bunch of straps from NOA for the couple of DS-Lites I have as I didn't want to remove the one from my original DS.

Now I'm playing Lego Indiana Jones (which is awesome) and can see how the thumb control thing could come in handy...

I really dug the thumb strap for Metroid Prime Hunters. For me it worked great. Oh how I long for more DS FPS (Like a Quake 3 Arena... oh yeah...)

That was supposed to go on my thumb? I slipped it around my wrist every time I held one after an accident I had with one. It never fell again.
