I bought it myself but have yet to start it. It's supposedly a classic and I've been meaning to try it out at some point.

Also grabbed Pushmo World last week and love it! Really cool to see the various puzzles people have been making too.

Other companies would do this too, and even in movies. You would hear a lot of fans trying to a sequel, but they don't care instead they put something else the customers were not anticipating.
I think the issue is that often these are loud fanbases who's internet presence may not actually accurately reflect the market demand.

They're making a new Star Fox in any case.
Exactly. I have also stated before the F-Zero does not sell. Earthbound, although popular...does not sell. Also you will not see a new earthbound as the creator is done with the series. Will we see a localization of Mother 3? With the introduction of the GBA virtual console, they might if they use the fan translation (which the fans have stated Nintendo can take for free).
I see now. I thought those were really popular. I never realised what a loud minority is until I learned about Shenmue. While I feel the game is "all that" , the sales numbers are embarrasing.

So.... is the Wii U an example of loud fanbase? *flies away*

I'm sure this has been discussed here in detail, but if not: can someone give me some perspective on Wii U sales? Specifically, why is it considered "failing" by some? My guess is that it is selling at a slower rate than previous Nintendo consoles, and selling at a slower rate than the PS4 and Xbone (I don't know if this is true or not). I want to see some actual number comparisons. Hasn't it sold close to 7 million units? That seems like a big number to me... but I lack perspective.

Assuming it is "failing", what are the chances that it will become a "success"? Is there a certain number of units sold it has to hit? (I think many people here consider it a success for themselves because it has many good/great games (that are unavailable elsewhere), and more good games on the horizon. That's not what I'm asking)

If this has been discussed elsewhere in this thread, a link to the page(s) would be great.

I really wish there was a thin vertical line between the consoles and the handhelds so you realize that they aren't all on the same scale.

Did not realize the Xbox One was sagging so bad.

I think it will be fine, still. The Wii U has a full year of release time on the other consoles. I'd expect that the Xbox One will easily pass the Wii U by Black Friday.

DS and PSP were a little closer in sales than 3DS and Vita are, right? Holy poop.

According to that link, it was DS @ 154.88 (65.72%) vs. PSP @ 80.80 (34.28%). Whereas it is 3DS @ 44.87 (84.23%) vs 8.4 (15.77%).

The 3DS has a year on the Vita, but yeah - I think the Vita would be fortunate to get to 25% of the market by the time it's all said and done. I still love the system and am glad they made it, though!
