Jungle book - watched this because hey I have a vhs player, and can finally watch it again. The movie still pissed me off in the end because I still kept hoping that he would end up living in the jungle. Whatcha' going to do "girls you can't live with them or without them". Though I'm still wanting the bare nesscessities of life.

Fighting myself now to either watch another video or play some more zelda I....I really want and need to beat that...but so many movies i wanna watch....

Speaking of VHS I need to pick up the old Starwars films again. Had the trilogy box set on VHS but it seems to have been put in Attic limbo or got tossed in with our last DVD/VHS purge  .

Did they ever get around to putting the originals on DVD or is still just the "enhanced" versions :P.

Forrest Gump came out 20 years ago. I still think Jenny sucks.

There was a 2008 DVD release that included them as a bonus. However, they're basically what you'd get if you captured the THX release Laserdiscs, I think. Not remastered, not anamorphic, etc.
Still hasn't been a high quality DVD or Blu-ray release of the original cuts.

Can you blame someone who was abused as a child?

Never cared much for the actress that played her. The way she was portrayed I just never really felt a ton of sympathy for her :P.

Was surprised to find out there was a book sequel Forrest Gump and Co. picked it up at a good will along time ago but never got around to reading it.

Yeah they did, a long time ago. They were individual releases, and it really seemed like he was a dick about how he did it.

They're non-restored film with original 2.0 sound mix. I think they might be just a transfer of the Laser Disc version.

To be honest, that one guys' BluRay despecialized edition that's floating around online is a much better choice.

To a certain degree, no--but at what point do your bad decisions become your own, and not solely the fault of something awful that happened to you in the past?

I've always been bothered by how badly she really treats Forest. It can be attributed to the abuse- but when you get down to it all, its past the point of that, and she really treats him like shit for little to no reason.

Yes, because a person who has lived their entire life in an abusive environment would seek out a happy peaceful life. What she experienced was considered normal to her and that was the world she felt she deserved to live in. She suffers from a mental illness that has caused her to continue a self-destructive lifestyle. It is like telling a depressed person to cheer up. It's not that simple.
