I've been wanting to do a wiki for a while since everyone here is so great about sharing recommendations to build lists and such.
I've started a wiki and have given a few of the top posters here a sneak peak.

I guess right now you could say it's in Beta (or Alpha) form because it's not full and polished enough to get added to the main site menu.
But feel free to add some content to it and such.
Right now its running on PMWiki, but I'm kinda curious about what the results of Google's recent purchase of JotSpot will be:

Anyway, lemme know what you think!

I've been putting together the "Rare and Valuable" section...Phantasy Star isn't really rare, but even at $20, it's more than most SMS games, so I thought it deserved metion as a "valuable" one, just to even things out.Zalphier wrote:However, are you sure that master system phantasy star is rare? I mean, I see it all the time in local game trade shops. I guess it depends where you live. (if it is rare though, I'm going to have to pick it up lol)
Edit: Oh, what I wanted to say also: Could we start a page to discuss entries and formats? I've been hesitant to add things other than in the section I've been doing.
Yeah, I'd have to agree on that. I really ought to get ahold of a copy soon, I don't want for it to become rare, and have to pay even more money than it used to be :/
I definatly agree with sonic sms being rare though. I think I've seen one actual copy (in rl) A friend had it. It's the exact thing as the game gears sonic the hedgehog(1)

Add whatever you want.SegaVega wrote:Edit: Oh, what I wanted to say also: Could we start a page to discuss entries and formats? I've been hesitant to add things other than in the section I've been doing.
The more the merrier.
The trick is to keep it organized.

A little reminder, this wiki thing kinda fell out of sight.
Anybody interested in contributing some stuff?

I think the key problem with any wiki is that it requires a good bit of work and a dedicated team of editors who are essentially willing to edit everyone else's posts to maintain style and structure.
Basically, Racketboy, you (or a couple designated lieutenants) need to be willing to give the site an initial structure and flow, create and maintain formatting rules, and be willing to edit everyone else's entries in order that they are properly formed and structured. Unity of vision helps, too :)

Yeah, I guess I need to determine a more specific goal I want to accomplish with it.marurun wrote:I think the key problem with any wiki is that it requires a good bit of work and a dedicated team of editors who are essentially willing to edit everyone else's posts to maintain style and structure.

Originally, I guess I thought everything would just start working automatically
I'll have to brainstorm a bit for some solid ideas.
Does anybody else have any interest in being a "leader" in this project?

The best person to do it might be someone who already has an eye for, or experience with, layout and design, especially with text. I like a lot of what you tried to do with it at the start, and it can easily grow as big as it needs to be, but it really needs to be centrally managed/helmed. We have some graphics/design/layout junkies here, don't we?
I'm a graphics junkie, but obviously I'm working on other tasks at the momentmarurun wrote:The best person to do it might be someone who already has an eye for, or experience with, layout and design, especially with text.
