You're going to try and score more goals? Never say never!

Sio: way to lose it for your country.

Seriously, you ground out that win Greece. My bracket is torn up though because of the upsets.

Captain Tsubasa suffers another major defeat. Anyone care to explain Japan's deficiency?

Also, συγχαρητήρια

No I wouldn't call us Nintendo fans (I hope everyone on this board gets that joke)

Thank you mate :). And about Japan: height plays an important role in football. With such a low average team height it makes things pretty difficult. There's also just plain bad luck.

8)

My thoughts: I don't know how I feel about this. On the one hand we played better than them for most of the game, and specially with some killer outside shots from Catagounis we should have scored more goals. All Ivory Coast seemed able to do was pass the ball to its best player and sit back and let him do the magic.

So in that regard I feel the result is fair.

BUT

I'm not sure about that penalty :/. From what I saw on the replay our player tripped on his own legs. I know wrong calls are part of the game, but it gives a bit of a bad taste to the victory for me.

Anyway I'm sure by tomorrow I will have gotten over it and I'll be able to make fun of the people on that boat heading back to Europe (wait for Portugal and potentially Russia and Switzerland too before you go please).

Anyway as I was asked at the beginning of this thread, this is what we wanted, our expectation, it's the first time we're in the top 16 teams of the world (wow that sounds almost as crazy as European Champions :P) and I'm going to enjoy the build up to the game against Costa Rica and I'm going to enjoy it regardless of the result. Hope we keep seeing great games in this tournament.

FFS, if we had dogs playing in the game they'd be less likely to bite than this asshole. I hope people from Uruguay are ashamed of this bastard too.

Suarez just doesn't get it, he had the chance to finally change his image which he has done a great job of and now this.. Even worse lugano has the nerve to call chiellini a coward..man how I wish totti and gattuso were still around, they'd be picking up Suarez remains off the field after they are done with him

Fantastic player, horrible attitude

I hope that ever club that would entertain him as a transfer realizes how much of a liability he truly is, fantastic player or not. He's toxic.
