My Retron 5 came in the mail today!
I am buying all Saturn games, PM me with your offerings and I will let you know if I need the game or not! (Everything must be CIB)

Currently trying to knock off all the sports games, would like to get them <$5 each! Of course if you would like to donate them I will gladly pay the shipping! :)

i have a miracle piano. i wonder if they'd trade me a unit for it :)
Ok, I didn't write that about the piano  So if you want to send them one in exchange for a free Retron 5, I hereby hold myself not-responsible.*

Ok, I didn't write that about the piano, that was a copy/paste from the guy in contact with the Retron Tech, So if you want to send them one in exchange for a free Retron 5, I hereby hold myself not-responsible.*

Firmware 1.4 is out!

Changes include:

- Added system for auto-detecting configuration of NES carts for certain mappers (0-4), which will significantly improve compatibility with various repros
- Cheat system completely re-done
- Improved SNES cartridge detection logic (resolving HiROM/LoROM related errors)
- Better handling of Genesis cartridge saves
- SMS compatibility fixes
- Fixed a bug affecting a few NES CNROM cartridges
- Sonic & Knuckles "lock-on" fully supported
- Added support for NES mappers 40, 82, 225, 232
- Added support for SMS controllers
- Added support for save access on NES MMC6 cartridges (Startropics)
- Fixed NES "Top Gun"
- Fixed GBA Dragon Ball Z games
- Modified the default button mapping between the wireless controller and GB/GBA/NES to match the layout of the original controllers
- Fixed bug preventing console region setting working correctly with some games

In addition, the cheat code database has been revised and updated.

I'll be trying this out later.

Does this mean it's playable now?

Still no word on the Amazon black consoles...

This is impressive to me. With the nature of how the system simply dumps roms, I didn't think any pass-through carts would ever work. The fact that they not only managed to fix Sonic3 & Knuckles, but all Sonic & Knuckles compatibility is awesome. There's probably not much that a firmware patch can't fix (aside from the Sunsoft MegaDrive games screw up.)

I think theoretically the SunSoft games would work if you opened the Retron 5 up? But yeah, not practical at all...

Or cutting and ruining the shell itself which is something you don't want to do obviously. I know I keep harping on this but along with not letting 32X carts fit that was a major screw-up.

I'm really happy to hear confirmation with Sonic & Knuckles because it's one of my favorite games of all time. I heard some people got it to work on the older firmware by trying a few dozen times but it's good to know they've officially fixed it now.

Maybe they added an auto land cheat.

If they did that I'd finally get a chance to play the game.

Still have nightmares about crashing on landing.
