I don't know, i've seen wind waker go for the $20 range. My problem is i'd rather spend that $20 to buy several games for other systems until I'm done with my tuition...(since that $20 will still buy me at the right place 5 ps2 games or maybe a few other ones but I've not found the true cheap place for the cartridge based systems in charlotte)jvalentine98 wrote: Have no desire to buy the piece of thrash that is RE4. So that it's for that console. Any other games like Wind Waker have jumped so high in price, I don't even bother lookng for GCN games anymore.

Wow, I've basically only heard good things about RE4 (never played an RE, myself). What don't you like about it?jvalentine98 wrote: Have no desire to buy the piece of thrash that is RE4.
Final Fantasy IX is the best one

It is kind of a strange sentiment. (I adored RE4, and I played through the game in three marathon sessions shortly after it was released.) That said, a RE purist might think that the game took the franchise in the wrong direction.catnip wrote:Wow, I've basically only heard good things about RE4 (never played an RE, myself). RE 2 ending: It's up to us to stop Umbrella!
RE 3 ending: Umbrella's gone too far!
RE CV: Umbrella must pay!
And that was that. RE 4 just explains Umbrella away in a couple sentences. The story line I had been playing since 1996 was just erased. Just imagine all the creepy possibilities of having a game set in Umbrella's head quarters. Who knows what kind of weird experiments and what not. They just wasted it.
They have escaped into the mansion where they thought it was safe, yet.

I thought RE4's explanation as to Umbrella's fate was the most realistic thing in the entire RE series, and I would expect any company that decimated an entire city with a zombie plague to go belly-up pretty quickly.jvalentine98 wrote:It wasn't the gameplay, it was the story.

Nope not satisfying. What I wanted to do was storm in there and blow Ozwell Spencer's head off his shoulders.

I didn't say "satisfying"; I said "realistic".jvalentine98 wrote:Nope not satisfying. What I wanted to do was storm in there and blow Ozwell Spencer's head off his shoulders.

...before slipping a shotgun in his mouth and blowing his own head clean off his shoulders.

Re: What's your gamecube library like?
Ironically enough, my love addiction with Resident Evil 4 has motivated me to buy a Gamecube. Mainly because I REALLY want to play REmake.
There are already a few games on my 'must buy' list. Ikaruga and Metroid Prime being the top ones.
Also my youngest daughter has shown some interest in video games, and I obviously would love to cultivate this and encourage it. What are some good kid games? 3-10 age range. Mario Kart Double Dash suitable?

RE4's just so much fun that I really can't be bothered to care how it deviates from the series formula and hand-waves away a lot of estabilshed plot

I agree. The gameplay itself makes the story (or lack thereof if that's your opinion) irrelevant. That, to me, is a sign of a great game.AppleQueso wrote:RE4's just so much fun that I really can't be bothered to care how it deviates from the series formula and hand-waves away a lot of estabilshed plot
