TV's bad, but for me what's worse is real life, or worse yet, last generation.RCBH928 wrote:noiseredux wrote:a friend of mine from high school recently said something along the lines of "we're in our early 30's now. And if I see the show Friends, I think - that's where I'm supposed to be." Which is fucked up cuz I always thought that I'd have shit "together" at that age too. But y'know what? Watching Friends, it's pretty clear that these people were not early 30's. So fuck that.
I hate that feeling when I realise that I am just as old as the people I used to see as "adults" on tv. Its even worse when they are younger.
I'm the age my parents were when they had me. Which means I'm a decade older than they were when they got married and had my brother. Meanwhile I've got me an awesome girlfriend, but she's Canadian and has family issues she's taking care of so god only knows when we'll be able to move forward on things like moving in together and marriage.
And then there's the fact that a large percentage of my peers are married, parents, divorced, etc etc.
But hey. Live YOUR life, not anyone else's. I don't want to be divorced, I don't want to be a parent. I'd like to be married, but hey I have a mortgage and a solid job which is more than a lot of the married folk I know can say, so there's that.
