I also like Crusader of Centy and the Saturn and Genesis Oasis games. Excellent alternatives to Zelda.

Panzer Dragoon Orta is one my favorite action RPG's.

I'm sort of new to the whole RPG genre.

It's definitely not an RPG. It has some light RPG elements to it, mainly the evolution of the dragon, but that's it. Maybe he meant PD Saga? That's an RPG, maybe not an action one, but definitely an RPG.

I was assuming it was a RPG because IGN.com classified it that. I knew from playing it seemed like it had nothing with RPG's but with my lack of experience with the genre i was not capable of totally understanding what is or what is not a action RPG.

I always had a soft spot for Shining Wisdom. I know it's not the best game but I enjoyed it enough to play it through twice - once for nostalgia purposes.
