Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

With all due respect to ZeroAX, I'm gonna root for Japan now. They can be exciting, if ineffective. Greece are so dull and they have the ability to make every match sluggish.

(I was happy for Greece '04 though!)

Yes, it's 1AM over here and I'm staying up to 3AM to watch it.

The nerd in my smiles every time a Japanese player has the same last name as a gaming industry icon  (Yamaguchi)

 . It's ok mate. Besides I'm rooting against Brazil too (only because all my Brazilian friends are doing so too  . They are so angry at all the wasted money for the world cup that they want the team to do badly so the people will get angry and the politicians won't get away with all the corruption).

Yeah, I don't get that. Money was wasted and, even worse, the story of Brazil in the last 10 years is the eviction and displacement of thousands of families for new stadiums and developments (I've written extensively about it).

But Brazil losing doesn't change any of that. So, let's win.

It's funny that the Japanese are trying the aerial game against the Greek.

Average height of the Japanese team: 5 feet.
Average height of the Greek team: 7 feet.

Metric please metric

It's also funny that the Greeks are trying the counter attack game against the Japanese.

Avereage speed of the Greek team: way too slow compared to every other team in the tournament.

Also the ref has been outstanding, we're really lucky in both our games, judging from the stuff I've seen in other groups.

EDIT

Congrats Catsouranis you moron.

Japan's ineffectiveness has me headachy.

1) I believe our players touched the ball more times with their heads than with their feet

2) Seriously Japan, 60 minutes with one player more than us and you fail to get even close?

3) European football fans who were watching this game and have troubling sleeping: you are welcome.

That was a bit of a stinker. Here's a guy pretending to be a statue to make up for it.
