Xbox 360 Controller

Post by masonyes »

I can use a regular(non-pc) xbox 360 controller on my computer right?
Also besides playing sports, racing titles, what other games is the controller useful for?
You know that story, about how NASA spent millions of dollars developing this pen that writes in Zero G? Did you ever read that?
You know how the Russians solved the problem?
They used a pencil.

Yeah, you can. If it's wireless, then you have to go get the wireless adapter for the PC. You can use it for any game that has joystick support. I like to use it when I'm emulating the PlayStation 1. It's a good replacement for the ps1.

EDIT: Its my 100th post!

Yup, plug it straight in. If you wanna go wireless just buy the dongle.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

keep in mind, the charger cable for the wireless ones doesn't make a data connection to USB. It only charges it! So if your controller is wireless, the dongle is necessary! If you have a wired one, just plug the bugger in. If you've got Vista it just starts working immediately, depending you version of XP you might have to download the drivers, they're free on MS's website... it has a weird name, I forget it right now.

But yeah it works for anything with usb joystik support. I used it for Phantasy Star Universe, XNA/DirectX development, Silent Hill 2 PC, and a few other games. It's pretty nice.

Cool thanks, I've always thought wireless was a rip off anyways. At least for computers, anyways if anyone wants to help me out and sell me a controller used in good condition for 15 dollars let me know. The current selling price is 23 at amazon.

Thanks
