What was the last movie you've seen?
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Watched HER last night, it was well done and simultaneously romantic and creepy feeling.
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

I completely agree man. Not even a single point to argue.. lol.KalessinDB wrote:I really really really wish they had stopped before the last like 5 minutes of the movie thoughSano wrote:Elysium, decent movie. Wish we had that healing technology.Like... it kinda defeats the purpose in my mind. There were plot holes I could drive my car through that the group of us who saw it all discussed after the movie (don't ask me to identify them, it as a long time ago and I've since forgotten), but in my mind if you don't go "Wait..what?!?" while you're actually watching the movie, it's completely excusable and doesn't ruin the experience. That last final bit of it? That was completely broken in my mind, all 3 of us that saw it at once were all like "Oh COME on!" while we were still in the theatre.
Overall though, I enjoyed the movie.

Tims Vermeer

For those who have not heard of it, it is a Documentary by Penn Jilette about Tim Jenison (creator of Video Toaster) testing a theory he created and replicating a Johannes Vermeer painting with his technique. This is in no way a knock at Vermeer, just a belief that he may have used a tool like this to aid in creating his paintings. It is mind blowing and inspired me to try painting for the first time in 15 years. My "Vermeer" was the Joust side art done in bad acrylics on a piece of printer paper, and not nearly as cool. But I am going to play with optics and see if I can create a device similar to Tims so I can paint some of my photos. I painted from my childhood up until I was about 15 when I was shocked and ended up with nervous damage in my arms. I lost alot of my minutely fine motor skills - which is why my soldering always looks like crap. So this was a big leap for me to go back to try and paint. And if I can use a optical tool to get back to painting without one, I would be very happy.

Do check it out, it is a really fun film that makes you think. Tim maybe insane, but he proved his concept very well.BogusMeatFactory wrote:You just made me look this up and I have to go watch this now. This seems incredibly fascinating!

Well just finished green lantern, exactly what I expected in a green lantern movie and as good as I remember. Don't know why you all were naysaying it unless you just don't like superhero movies like it. Sure some of the 3d effects are a little cheesy from overuse over the years(but they look better in this movie) but it's still a decent movie

Luke is about to tell you why this is wrong.darsparx wrote:Well just finished green lantern, exactly what I expected in a green lantern movie and as good as I remember. Well his last post on the matter didn't make sense because he wasn't even paying attention to the movie(working a spreadsheet apparently), every time I watch a movie and try to do something else at the same time whatever movie I'm watching doesn't make sense. But when I go back and give it my full attention it makes perfect sense. This one however made full sense unless you just don't know how to follow the story. If you want a true confusing movie go watch that Sandra Bullock movie "Premonition" that is a confusing movie with borderline bad acting...

Pretty sure that if you were able to convince Luke to watch Green lantern sans spreadsheet, his opinion would be the same. And I'm pretty sure that was the second time he watched it.
Also agree on Elysium. I was looking forward to it but the plot holes and cliches were more than I could stand. And apparently the only thing people on Elysium ever do is 1. Stand by their pool in Khakis from 2006 and 2. Be really evil.
Seemed like a movie that could have tackled some interesting issues but got instead didn't develop them and focused on the oversimplistic story.

Well it's not for everyone and apparently it's not for most people on this site except for me apparently because both me and my dad enjoyed it when we saw it originally and I still enjoyed it seeing it the second timeJrecee wrote:Pretty sure that if you were able to convince Luke to watch Green lantern sans spreadsheet, his opinion would be the same.
