I've seen some NICE stuff done with newer filters and shaders that emulate CRTs amazingly well (not just scanlines, but even stuff like phosphor glow and shadow masks)
only filters i've ever liked

I am hoping it doesnt have any of the defects that have been listed and he is just saying untested... But, no reason not to believe him, and I scored a good deal on it considering the 2nd hand market prices on them right now. I should have mine in by wed or thursday

Saw one of these at local retro shop. Just could not bring myself to do it. 140 bucks seems like a lot for something like this. Though I may be wrong in the long run.

Mine came in the mail yesterday, and had a couple friends come over and bring some games to test on it. It has a few minor issues but overall, I am satisfied with it. Some games look really great on it like Gunstar Super Heroes(despite a small graphical glitch in one of the levels) or Ogre Battle. It is a lot of fun to mess with the filters and scanlines to see which ones work best.

Gray units are officially in stock at Amazon.
Black units are officially in stock at ThinkGeek.
The latest grind from the rumor mill is that some black units should be arriving to Amazon soon. The story is that Hyperkin was going to wait for an Amazon-exclusive black shipment to arrive in July that would fulfill all pre-orders but now Hyperkin reversed direction and will send a limited supply of black units that will fulfill some, but not all of the pre-orders now. I think a wait and see is needed on this, so stay tuned.
