So if you're building a team, who do you take at SF?

James is a big athletic guy but Bird is the same height and is a better "basketball player." Bird averaged a double double in the regular season AND postseason for his entire career.

So to me, you can't declare Lebron the greatest when he isn't even the greatest at his own position.

My team would be:

C: Hakeem
PF: Malone (Duncan is great but Karl scored, and scored a lot)
SF: Bird
SG: Jordan
PG: Magic

2nd Team would be:

C: Russell (Who cares about height? He did fine against Chamberlain)
PF: Barkley (Short or not, he got it done)
SF: Lebron
SG: Kobe
PG Stockton

Really? The 2nd leading scorer all time? Barkley was a beast and he did it at only 6'6 from the PF position.

Hall of Famers for sure, but not the complete package Duncan has been.

Barkley was the shortest inside player every night on the court pretty much his entire career. Despite that, he won a scoring title and led the league in rebounding. Imagine the guys jumping for the ball are all 3-6 inches taller in the paint, yet you out rebound them.

Duncan's an all time great for sure. I just watched Barkley play and compete against the likes of Malone and co. and he was a great player.

As far as a complete package...Barkley retired as 1 of 4 players with 20,000 points, 10,000 rebounds and 4,000 assists. Pretty complete.

Yes!

With that beginning, I thought the Heat were going to cruise to a W...and then they got crushed.

and Duncan has 5 more rings than both of them combined. I want someone who shows up when the lights are the brightest. Malone couldn't handle the pressure when it really mattered. He missed key free throws at the end of a Finals game, disappeared in the second half of another. Didn't show up for 2 games in another Finals. Who cares what you do over a 82 game season? When teams take nights off. What can you do when the pressure is on. For the same reason I'm taking Isiah over Stockton. He's got the hardware and went through Larry, Magic and Michael to get it.

Happy the Spurs won :). It's also cool that it's a repeat of last year's finals. New rivalry created? :D
