Re: What RPG are you playing right now?
Started up Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii. Saw Nintendo's Treehouse stream for E3 on the new Xenoblade Chronicles X and the combat system really piqued my interest. So far so good! I haven't gotten very far, probably played for about a half and hour, but I am very excited about the promise.
This game has taken some notes from games like Everquest 2 with these collection questions, searching the environment around you to find collectables to redeem for better gear. That is a huge problem in a good way for me, making me HAVE to do it. I can't NOT collect them all. Also, I am so happy that you can redeem quests from wherever you are...YAY! Still getting used to running around, as I am using the Wii Remote and nunchuk controls, the camera can be really finicky with this setup as I don't have a classic controller.
We shall see how it works out!

Sounds like if and when I do get that game I will be using my classic controller to play it

Yeah because the camera is controller with the c button on the nunchuk in combination with the buttons on the wiimote. Not comfortable AT ALL! i may actually rip it onto my computer and emulate it so I can use an xbox 360 controller instead. I only was an hour in.darsparx wrote:BogusMeatFactory wrote:Started up Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii. Or you know get a classic controller. I have one and from what I recall gamestop isn't selling them for too expensive so it might be worth it to go pick one up. Of course I have the classic controller pro which is 10x better than the regular classic controller just in looks to me....

Yep, the game uses the classic controller too. I didn't even know the Wiimote worked with it for a long time.

Re: What RPG are you playing right now?
I ripped it onto my PC and emulated the classic controller. I have no need to plunk down extra cash to buy a peripheral for a single game. Much easier to just do it this way and I can keep the game safely tucked away in its case.

Well i know there are apparently quite a few games that make use of it so it's worth it to have it to me(not to mention if some really expensive games come cheap to the vc I might be using that thing more often...)

Fired up Legacy of Ys: Books I & II.
I like the soundtrack in this one. Some pretty interesting variations from the classic Ys tunes.

Re: What RPG are you playing right now?
Started playing this last night:

I'll go ahead and get my only two complaints thus far out of the way. Number 1, the 3D effect in this game sucks. This is the first 3DS game I've played where I turned the 3D all the way off. Number 2, if you enable the original OST in this game, it does not sound as good as the original OST did on the actual DS. The FM emulation sounds tinny in comparison. Luckily the new OST for this remake is quite good to make up for it.
Aside from those two complaints, this game kicks serious ass. So much fun exploring the labyrinths, mapping it all out, upgrading your characters, taking on quests... just smooth classic fun. I'm playing Story mode on Standard difficulty, btw. And the added on plot so far has actually been interesting, despite what I've read others say about it.
