:( Car battery crapped the bed yesterday. Went to go get some lunch and nothing but a click.

:) Friend was available to get a replacement after work and the girl working the counter was cute.

:( $120 I hadn't planned on spending yesterday.

:) At least it was just the battery as I suspected and nothing else. Finally changed my oil today too. I've had oil and a filter sliding around under my passenger seat for a few months now and was way overdue. Apartment security guard saw me and thankfully didn't yell at me even though I'm not supposed to do that here. I do have a good oil pan and didn't make a mess.

:( I did it around 2:30 this afternoon so I wouldn't put it off any more as I was going to run errands afterwards. I got mild heat stroke because I had to run back upstairs (3rd floor) a few times and the heat index was about 105 at the time.

:) Hooray for cold showers. Also found a copy of The Beatles - Yellow Submarine at the used book store. Just need Yesterday and Today to finish up their albums I want to obtain.

I'm out of money. My provider took a huge pay-cut in February. My health scare luckily doesn't appear to be anything more than a scare but its the shit cherry on top of everything that has now piled on at once. Not to mention many of my passion projects and entertainments are effectively dead because they rely on the internet, and up here we have dial-up level internet since my parents live in the middle of nowhere. I have about two weeks to figure things out.

I feel like I've failed at life.

I feel like shit.
Don't feel bad man. I moved back in with my parents.. at least 3 times after moving out the first time. And I moved in with my brother once (same deal, rent-free because I couldn't afford anything and he's fairly well off) so if we include that I lived with family on 4 separate occasions after moving out because of lack of money. This was right up until I bought my house at age 28. And I know others that age who still live at home too. Heck, in a lot of countries it's the norm, not the exception.

Thanks for the support everyone. I'm feeling a bit better now. I shouldn't feel too upset about it certainly but it still sucks. I consider myself very independent and having to move back home is a bit of a blow to my feelings of self worth.

Adam, I sent you a PM. Thank you for the generous offer.

That's pretty awesome. The pay isn't really that great, but like you said considering you have no bills other than food, so it's not really that bad either. If I was still stuck in my horrid retail job I would've considered it, personally. Go for it, Ryan! (He says, not knowing any way Ryan's personal life or how many ties he'd have to break for the year )

I've been flirting with a job change recently too. I like my company and they compensate me well, are laid back (for the most part, though that can be inconsistent), and give good raises (typically $4 per hour each year). However, the commute is a bit far, and can be especially far if I get moved to one of the other offices, which happens often enough. I also feel, due to some internal politics and nepotism, that I should and want a bit more responsibility and get a quicker path to project discipline lead. I had some issues last year with my 2 surgeries and my child's birth to where my commitment and reliability was ridiculously questioned.

In switching, I am not guaranteed of any of that either, and can possibly not get compensated as well. I could also go to an environment I like less and regret it.

Not super serious yet, but the thoughts have begun to cross my mind... Not expecting anyone in here to really make my decision for me and I realize I am being vague, but just something that maybe helps when typed out.

Saw one of my favorite bands of all time tonight: Cake.
Wanda Jackson opened for them. SO much incredible music, such a wonderful evening.
