Pretty much the craziest sale Steam has ever had

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Wow, thanks for telling me what I should and shouldn't be willing to do. I don't know how I'd come to my own conclusions about value without you making up my mind for me.

Yes, the prices on Steam are great right now, but if I can't play some of the titles on sale and aren't interested in some of the others, perhaps even this sale just won't do much for me.

Buddy, if there's nothing in their holiday sale that you want, then it's time to accept the fact that video games are not for you.

Or you could actually LOOK at the items they have for sale. I know how much energy it takes to click the mouse and scroll the wheel for a while, but there are literally a hundred very cool, indie games that you've never heard of before, because they couldn't afford to advertise hard enough to inject the presence of the game into your skull for you. You actually have to dig around yourself. The only way to find gold is to dig.

I mean look what I just found:

I have NEVER heard of this game, and the trailer alone has me reaching for my wallet. $5 to play something completely unlike any other game out there? Sounds much better than playing $60 for some game that's 99% like 500 other games out there, and with absolutely no indication as to whether it's actually better than those.

Well, there might be titles in there I'd want if it weren't for the fact that I have so many games in my queue right now. I've got to go through Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate II (and expansion), Planescapes Torment, Bard's Tale (rerelease), Might and Magic IX, and I'd like to go back to Gothic II and actually finish the stupid thing rather than getting distracted halfway through.

So yeah, there's nothing in that holiday sale that I want. I have a careful budget to preside over this month and, given my finances and my backlog there just ain't any room at the inn.

You *really* seem to have a problem with the concept of personal preference.

No, I have a problem with people who bash a gigantic sale, all because they refuse to sample more than one dull genre.
