I do have blue glowing fans that match the keyboard and mouse though.

I have a window on mine, and nothing that glows in it to make it stand out.

Technically, my keyboard and mouse match my subwoofer though

I am indifferent with regards to the windows on cases. Every once in a while a motherboard will have a couple seven segment displays to give you error information in addition to beep codes which makes having the window useful. Otherwise it's sorta whatever. Since my PC isn't in my bedroom the light that having a window puts out doesn't bother me.

I'm not fond of them either. It's the only negative on my Antec 900.

Eh I have that case, with the LEDs on the fans always off, because they are annoying. It technically is a side window but it's basically just a mesh with a 200mm fan that is blowing dust into my case at my gpu. I would much rather have a window then an open dust trap on it. I have seen people mod the case to put on a window instead of the fan/mesh but that just seems like to much effort and besides the case is just way too big for my needs.

I do like hearing what everyone does and doesn't like in cases though. I definitely hate LEDs in computers be they fans or light strips inside a window. I do love the look of these fans. I'll probably get a couple when I rebuild.

I also love the look of those armored motherboards. And yes I know that it is pointless. I would hate to imagine dropping a screw in there...

I don't give a single fuck what my tower looks like, which is why I reused the old OEM case...and I used the microATX board because it fit in that case and I won't be using a dual-GPU configuration anytime soon.

But it ended up having its own charm.

That duct tape was a temporary measure to hold up the PSU, because the screw holes don't line up. I planned to modify the case, but it seems to be fine this way.

Temps are fine? Seems like it doesn't have a lot in the way of ventilation, save for that you've left the 5.25 bay covers out. I know that's a big difference between the cases I built my PIII/P4 systems in and Core2 era systems and on.

I want to be pedantic for a moment here, but isn't this essentially assembling PC's and not building them? Fair enough if you weld together a chassis and then assemble the retail components inside, but otherwise it's just like Lego assembly.

Front and back covers are out, including both cd drive bays. Those slots on the bottom are also a vent. It's usually 28 degrees and peaks at 50 so I'd say the GPU, CPU, PSU fans are doing their jobs and the ventilation is just fine.

Pulsar, you're correct. There's nothing impressive about snapping a PC together or even overclocking one. I'm more impressed with people who master really hard games on them.

build /bild/: verb to make (something) by putting together parts or materials

You put computer parts together, yes, like Lego pieces. So quite literally, by the definition of the word, you build a computer.

I see what you're saying though. But, if I may be pedantic now, show me a case that's welded together. Now, I'm sure there's some computer cases in existence that require welding to be assembled. But short of those NASA cases, most computer cases (metal) computer cases are riveted together. At least, I've never seen one welded. Riveting is cheaper than welding. I bet even with the robot versions of both, rivets are still cheaper.

I wouldn't call it Lego assembly, though. It's becoming easier and easier to assemble a computer these days, yes. But it still requires some knowledge to know which pieces to assemble together.
