For all those asking for movies based on story focused you need to realize that the reason they aren't being created is because those games stole from films in the first place. What's the point of getting a Metroid game when it's a clear Alien rip-off? Why get a Zelda Ocarina of Time film when it would remind people so much of Lord of the Rings? Metal Gear Solid? Why what does "this" army dude have that Rambo didn't? GTA? I'm not going to even touch that

Because I'm a writer and Sonic fan and I always wanted to be involved in a Sonic Movie. I outlined three films and wrote most of the first one.

I wasn't saying it would suck, although it will likely not meet my expectations being that I always had a very specific vision on how you could make a Sonic movie work.

What is up with all these video game movies that no one asked for?

People obviously want a Sonic movie. There's a fan film on YouTube with over 2 million views, and that's even taking into account the people that have contributed to the production.

Damn straight a Sonic movie! It's not like it'd be his first.

Does anyone not born in the 80's even care about this character anymore?

I was born in the nineties and I care about Sonic alot. There's also a push to bring Sonic back as these new Wii(U) games and Sonic Boom shows us. This push has brought in younger fans who would likely want to see a movie starring the blue blur.

Besides, what logic is that? "Does anyone not born in the 70's care about the Thunder Cats," "Does anyone not born in the 90s care about Power Rangers," and so on. If that logic was used often we'd miss out on some great works.

The glut of garbage games he's been involved with for the past ten years have basically killed the character, or at least they have for me.

I'd argue that there were some good/decent games in that glut, but my main response to this is that Sonic's games enjoyed an upturn in quality with titles like Sonic Generations and Sonic Colors.

Why not a Halo movie? Or Bioshock? Metal Gear Solid? Gears of War? Oh yeah, because you can't market those movies to young children...

You do realize that all of these have at least plans for a film? Hell, Halo already has a film: Forward Unto Dawn. It's not a theatrical film, but it's a film nonetheless. According to Wikipedia, there's also a Metal Gear Solid film in the works.

Oh and @ZeroAX we did have a fan made zelda film(that was halfway decent for a indie film) too bad nintendo caught wind of it and shut it down...don't think I still have my copy of it anywhere now >_>
