So I got a chance to play it today with my 11 year old brother in-law and my wife today. We got there a half an hour early and waited 3 hours to play. It was CROWDED. Tons of people jammed into small isles in an attempt to see the action. My Brother in-law had on a luigi hat and mustache and gave people death stares, much to their enjoyment.

Here is a picture of him with my wife!

So when we got into the game itself, I have to say that the game is freakishly beautiful. The HD visuals pops and the animation moves very fluidly. I got to play two, 2 minute rounds. The first round I played as Megaman and the second as Lil Mac. Both are VERY different from your typical Smash Bros character. With Megaman, his normal attacks are his buster and it is very unusual initially. We don't get much real time with the game, so with the sights and sounds you really can't get a good feel on how the mechanics play out.

With Lil Mac, he has a great feel of punching combos. There is a huge sense of impact and damage.

Overall, people played mostly as Greninja and Lil Mac and Lil Mac was winning almost every single fight.

As for the gameplay, it is incredibly faster than previous iterations. the stage seems to morph constantly and can be a huge distraction as the familiarity is gone with other stages and you can't really where you are going when the stage moves (am I falling off or no?). Again I feel like that has to deal with the environment as people were yelling and cheering people on.

The game plays very differently and I am curious to know if that is a really good thing or a bad thing. I played as new characters and it may very well be just with their differing styles.

Had a blast though and the Nintendo Rep took a picture of my brother in-law giving him the death stare....good times!

Dude nice. I'm so glad this looks more like Melee and is faster again. Looks incredible.

Also, Conan lol

So i got to play the game at Best Buy yesterday. I got to try out Little Mac, and his ground game is a little OP. It might have been just the stage (boxing ring), i just stood in the ring doing his A,A combo and was making people fly everywhere. I was just hitting that one combo going "GET OUT OF MY RING!!!" over and over. I totally dominated that match, i love Little Mac XD.

If people dodge you, things may be different. Initially, Little Mac looks like he will be OP, but, much like how Ike played initially during brawl, people will quickly learn how to avoid his attacks.

He has literally no air game so he's gonna be good on ground.

I feel like Mac seems overpowered now, but I imagine he is quite light, and so will be a reasonably easy KO - after all, if you send him flying, he's probably not getting back.

After seeing a lot of gameplay over the past few days, I'm excited to play as Rosalina and Vilager especially. Both look a ton of fun to use.

Well I look forward to spending money on both games come time for them to release. I actually really want to use the smash run if we can set up games with it and run that way....can you imagine several of us fighting it out on that after going through the dungeon?

From watching the tourney and some Treehouse gameplay Mac seems fine. His "K.O." punch doesn't seem anywhere near as overpowered as I imagined.
