I'm thinking I'll buy a Wii U in 2015 most likely, and end up with something like 12-20 games for the thing. I'm in no hurry whatsover to buy one right now though.

I've decided to add Splatoon to my list of demands, right alongside Captain Toad. True story: I like the idea of shooters but the bloodlust aspect of almost all of them turns me off. So Splatoon looks to be something I could happily spend some money on.

The details that Kotaku spilled yesterday also intrigue me, especially the idea that you can tap on a team mates location and automatically teleport to them.
I loved everything they've shown off at E3 so far, and I have a lot of things on my upcoming list to invest in.

As far as I'm concerned, Nintendo had the most exciting line up of games, the most interesting presentation and the constant streaming of stuff through the Treehouse live is amazing.

I'm not a fanboy (the Genesis is my favorite system ever) but I want to play games and Nintendo is making the games I want to play.
I don't play FPS and only a handfull of action games (Batman Arkham and similar) what I play the most are platformers and games made for the Wii U. I don't need Watchdogs, GTA, Halo, Titanfall - instead I want almost everything Nintendo showed: Captain Toad, Both Zelda games and Mario Maker.
To me the Wii U is awesome and I am excited for the future games. Is it better than any other console? I don't know or care. All I know is that I am having fun... I'm being entertained.

I have always viewed Nintendo like this: Nintendo does not always make the best games, but Nintendo makes the most fun games. What I mean by this is that I consider a game to be great if it moves you, engages you and really connects you to the story of a game. games like Shadow of the Colossus, the Myst franchise, Shenmue and Heavy Rain are great examples of games that I find to be great, even if they may be flawed in gameplay.

When watching Sony's press conference, I was wowed at a lot of upcoming games, even if they were coming to PC (my platform of choice). There was flash and pomp and circumstances with Sony and that made me excited.

With Nintendo, I did not seem nearly as excited, but every game on display had me thinking, "I'm going to have fun with this." I love the idea of sitting down and playing a level or two of Captain Toad, a gameplay style I adored in Super Mario 3D Land. With Yoshi's Wooly World and Hyrule Warriors I thought, "I'm going to have a lot of fun playing these with my wife co-op." The Amiibos made me say, "I'm going to have a lot of fun playing with these with my 11 year-old brother in-law." Smash Bros and Splatoon are going to be on-line competetive madness and Zelda and Xenoblade are both games that I will sit down and put in a LOT of time playing. Even Bayonetta 2 may sway me into a purchase.

When looking back at what Nintendo has shown, I really can say that I am going to have a lot of fun and in all honesty, I can not complain about that.

Activations total, not what they did in one year.
I don't get the point, just because smart phones can do more than a DS or VIta it does not make them in competition with the DS or Vita? its a portable device that plays videogames. I do not see how is this not competition when Angry Birds sell their game for $1 yet they still make more money than Mario Kart on DS for example(I am making up numbers).
It doesn't mean they aren't in competition, just that it's not a direct competition. Apple isn't peddling a dedicated gaming device with ~$40 carts. They're selling multi-purpose devices with apps that are priced in a way that reflects that. So all I mean is that comparing numbers isn't the whole story. Hundreds of millions of people downloading a free app on impulse isn't the same as ten million deliberately spending $40 on a cart, etc. They're different business models.

I think most of the excitement underscores how unimportant the Gamepad is. Seeing fresh, HD Nintendo games is what's driving it, with the second screen stuff feeling a lot like MS's push for Kinect.

To a point, the DS/3DS are like that too. There are a lot of great games on those, but quite a lot of them aren't inexorably tied to dual screens/stylus/etc.

Third party support is still terrible, and probably will only get worse. So, it's a good thing Nintendo has a nice, if not unexpected, lineup.

I will wait for an eventual price drop to get the system. Specially if they release a limited edition Xenoblade bundle. But I am pretty excited about it :)

After watching all the footage, I am actually very excited for it, especially because of the combat system. Is the Wii Xenoblade entry similar in combat systems? If so, I am going to HAVE to check it out.

I can't see a Xenoblade bundle happening. I think the Mario Kart bundle will be the standard one for a while.

Xenoblade Chronicles battle system is basically the exact same thing you see in X. The new thing is being able to hop in or out of mechs at will ala Xenogears.
