Ticked - its been raining every day for the last week, my lawn is almost tall enough to harvest as hay.

Smile - Had another offer on my house last night, even though it is not on the market. Then found out that my Uncle in Law is selling the tiny house we use to live in (the one that is alittle over 300sq feet). In doing some quick math, if I wanted to I could downsize my life and almost retire completely. If the land was flat and expandable, it would be a viable choice, but being that it is hilly and locked at just shy of 2 acres, we are not going to do it (well that and at my current job it would be a 1.5-2hour commute). Gives you something to think about though.

It just means cut high in the morning, cut low later in the day.

Fucking hell.

I got audited for a five figure amount because hr block fucked up my numbers. They fucked it up and then and the nerve to tell me "well you were dumb for not buying the piece of mind clause".

I paid $400 dollars for their service to get fucked for $xx,xxx, and then they tell me I'm dumb. And I have a temper but I kept it in check...kind of.

I slammed my fist down on the desk, and said "You screwed this up. Where is your accountability? I paid you $400 for just not anything, but for fines? You screwed up." Took my papers and left.

I have never, ever dealt with an issue like this in my life where a company has been so irresponsible. "guarantee" my skinny white ass.

Called corporate, called the BBB, called my lawyer. I'm furious and bewildered. I was going to get a new car. Not anymore due to this. I was going to go to my cousin's wedding, not anymore. I was going to go a funeral in Chicago, not anymore.

This fucking sucks.

Holy crap man, I can't even conceive of being audited for that much. Then again, I don't make enough money where I'd have that kind of number on my tax return at all, so I guess different worlds, but wow that sucks.

I hope SOMEHOW you get that sorted out at least a little. Good luck

:| Filling out stuff for financial aid and student loans is annoying

 I'll be making $1400 a month under the table working part time. I won't need to take out much in the way of loans it looks like but will probably take something just to cover my ass in any event.

:D The way things are looking I might be able to buy a house as soon as I get out of school with the money I'll have saved but that is getting way ahead of myself. But still it's fun to think about.

Thanks!

I mean, they fucked up, royally.

And it's a service. It's not like I bought The Spaghetti Incident when I wanted to buy Use Your Illusion I. If I fuck up by buying the wrong product, that 's all on me. This is like going to Jiffy Lube, some serviceman who is smoking, drops his cigarette into the gas tank, makes your car explode and then says "You were stupid for going to Jiffy Lube".

WTF kind of business are they running? And "I'm sorry" isn't going to cut the mustard, those fuckers need to refund my fee, and pay for their mistake, as IT IS THEIR MISTAKE.

If it comes down to me having to go to court, so be it, as I've never been so upset with a company. And I'm not the best brains on the net, but sure as rain I can make "H&RBlockSucksBalls.com" a top entry from a google search by only spending a couple of bucks and minutes. Plus I can make that site take you straight to "2 girls one cup".

I've lawyered up as well. If it costs me 1k to get 2k back, so be it. But fuck these guys for thinking I'm going to take this shit, and further more fuck them for insulting my intelligence,

Jay said it better

The piece of mind clause apparently only covers about $5K anyway. But, for like $30, why not get it if you have taxes that are complicated enough that a mistake of that magnitude may have been possible?

I wish you luck in pursuing your options with them, but no tax prep service is ever going to get it right 100% of the time and I don't think that they, legally, have much liability in something like this as you probably waived all that away. That extra protection is meant to mitigate against circumstances like this...

So say you go to a Jiffy Lube and they blow up you car because you didn't give them an extra fifty clams for a "piece of mind" clause you'd be okay with that?

It's a fucking SERVICE INDUSTRY. And I'm not yelling at you ('cause you're cute, polite, and really nice in person) but for fuck's sake, if someone fucks up and it costs me a trip to see my Grandmother, I'm going to be pissed off. It's quite simple: THEY FUCKED UP, THEY SHOULD PAY FOR WHAT THEY FUCKED UP.

And full disclosure...Just this week: I had a good friend die. Work is shit. Audited. Computer is on the fritz. Have to jizz in a cup. ...lots more too.

Complaining but not not complaining.

That's a double negative, so I am complaining.
