The possibilty of Link not in WiiU trailer

There has been a lot of people commenting on a off hand remark of “No one explicitly said that that was Link," by Aonuma.

Speculation has abounded to who it might be if not Link. I have heard theories that it could be an ancestor, Zelda, player made avatar or even a female Link. So far I haven't seen enough to convince me it is not Male Link, but I find the idea very intriguing.

What do you guys think? Is this "Link"? And if it isn't "Link", what do you think of LoZ not starring Link, co-starring Link or no Link as we know at all?

If it was a Female link, which it definitely needs more upstairs if you know what i mean , i would be perfectly fine with it.

Otherwise Link or not, its still a LoZ game with a character who looks like Link.

I think adventurer Zelda (or just fem Link in general) would be super duper friggin' amazing so I'm going to choose to dismiss this rumor out of hand to avoid getting my hopes up.

This is basically how I see it. It'd be cool to see something different but I'm not sure if they'd actually carry through with it.

I'm not sure I really like the idea of creating my character though.

People are also saying it may be Gannondorf based on the bracers (even though the bracers are very different).

Though open world, character creation, and coop, would make me giddy.

Co-op is another thing that I'd be uneasy about.
