Arcade Cab interest

Post by Marspants »

I was thinking about getting into Arcade Cabs and I seen this listing pretty local to me http://pei.en.craigslist.ca/tag/971532184.html. I was wondering what advice you guys would have for someone getting into Cabs and how much you think this one is worth if I was to offer to buy it.

i wouldn't say its a great deal- but it is ok. If you need to get it shipped it becomes more of a hassle and not worth it. The monitor in that cab is 15 inches, but they go up to 22 i think. I don't know if that is important to you. I've had my eye on a neo cab for a long time now and either the right deal comes along when i don't have cash, or it is a sea of cabs like these.

Personally- if i am going to drop 500 bucks, I would get what i want rather than settling. Not that you are! Thats just my end. I *personally* would offer 300 and see if he takes it. Neo arcade cabs are hard to price though. Unless it is a SUPER good deal then it is hard to know if you are getting ripped or not.

Conversion Neo with a FZ1 are dime a dozen. I'd look for a dedicated 2 or 4 slot unless the seller is just unloading it for cheap like 50-75 usd (and picking it up is no problem). I assume PEI does not get many cab sales...you might be stuck with what you can get. Luckly shipping MVS carts is easy, infact a seller I deal with is based up in CA (http://www.arcademvs.com/mvs.htm), just don't order with him if you want complete, mint-in-box...or have issue with boots.

The main reason why this sparked my attention is because I've never seen very many Arcade Cabs around here let alone a Neo Geo one. Picking it up is no problem, I just wanted to make sure I got a good deal on it because I'm new to the scene. I might offer him something cheaper for it, otherwise I think I'll wait it out for a better one. Thanks for the advice!

stop by the digitalpress forums and check the arcade section very knowledgeable guys over there in fact one of them has his own personal arcade and wrote a book about the hobby that would be most helpful.
