Yeah I somehow got sucked into those contests the first time I played and got to that point....randomly discovered it and probably spent a hour in that one spot

I played through Ruby on my PSP. It's an awesome game, maybe even the best in the series. IDK. Interested in seeing how this turns out, probably won't end up buying it though.

While the 3D Graphics are pretty much a given, I am sooo hoping for the experience share to be the same along with Pokemon Amie in the game. Since the original Ruby and Sapphire didn't have day and night in them I'm pretty sure this one will return with the day and night system since Gen I & III are the only ones without day and night (though I hope it is fixed a bit better since night seemed to take forever to get too)

I'm also wondering if the Beauty Contests will return since those were a big deal in Ruby and Sapphire (which I missed in X & Y since extra contests were gone). I just can't wait until we get a bit more information on the games.
I really didn't care about the Pokemon Amie and super training stuff that was in X & Y. Ugh.

Now I do remember Ruby having secret bases that you could collect furniture and stuff for kind of like Animal Crossing. I'd love to see that come back. 8)

I get a mix reaction from around the internet on those two. I did LOVE Pokemon Amie (which was part of the reason I got back into the series) because I felt like the Pokemon were more of your friends and I felt more connected with them. I also loved how whenever you played with them in Amie they become more powerful in battle since they trusted you more. IDK, call me silly but I loved it how the Pokemon would look towards you during a fight and would trust in you more.

Now with Super Training I rarely used, the only time I did was trying to get a reset bag, getting a evolve stone and keeping track of my stats for EV training. Since I typically would only do that stuff in post game and it was much faster using the items and finding hordes to train them up.

As for the secret bases I so hope they make a return but I'm not really counting on it. When Gold and Silver were remade we didn't get the custom bedroom like in the original which I really missed.

After Watching Pokemon Live today for some footage, I have to say that it is confirmed that Groudon and Kyogre will be the in game and the mascots of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

Seriously, after hearing we would get some gameplay footage that was a real tease.

Well they need to leave something to show on E3.

Still some of us really want to see it. Though I still want to see them eventually(even though I'm fine with remakes as long as they're decent) put all the old pokemon games on vc. I know I'll probably end up buying them anyways or playing them on their original system but it still would be interesting to play them on 3ds or wii u in the original form...

Woah! Talk about late to the party. This is cool news!

I liked it too for exactly the same reasons you did, but I do hope they take the opportunity to expand it. I've always wanted something akin to the old Dogz/Catz series of games to manifest in the Pokémon franchise -- something where you not only pat and feed your creatures, but can watch them wander about in different areas, see their personalities manifest in the way they behave, see them get along with (or not get along with) other creatures, and so on. Something like My Pokémon Ranch, but more, and not for just kindergarteners (although I admit that watching it can still be strangely entrancing sometimes).

Although I understand the difficulty of incorporating it into the new all-3D style, I'll always be sad that they abandoned the HG/SS gimmick of your leading pokémon following you in the overworld. I have never felt more immersed in the universe than through that comparatively simple detail, not even Pokémon Amie. Although I sometimes get the feeling I'm in the minority in that I loved chatting with my pokes in the field and taking them around with me in the Pokéwalker.
